Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has revealed that his wife, Melania Trump, hates it whenever he makes mocking gestures at the transgender community.
The former president was referencing how he uses weightlifting and swimming competition scenarios to drive home his point that trans women have taken over female sports.
He shared that his wife doesn't consider such gestures "presidential" regarding his ongoing second-term bid.
Donald Trump's Wife Doesn't Like Him Making Mocking Gestures At Transgender Community
In a recent campaign rally in Sioux City, Iowa, Trump spent some time talking to his audience about the transgender community. He referenced how their matters have become possible campaign points for politicians, which he is largely opposed to.
He went on to cite examples of transgender individuals who have participated in weightlifting and swimming competitions and even added mocking gestures.
Midway through his speech, Trump noted that his wife, Melania, doesn't feel it is "presidential" whenever he makes such a gesture.
"Our first lady hates it when I do [it]," the billionaire politician told the crowd.
He said, "She says, 'Darling, I love you so much, but this is not presidential when you do the weightlifting, this is not presidential, or when you do the swimming thing, it's not … or when you dance off the stage.'"
Trump then shared the response he gave his wife, saying, "Look. We got a year to go. Everybody loves us. I love everybody. The country's going to hell in a hand-basket. Let's do a little dancing."
Melania Recently Renegotiated Her Prenuptial With Donald Trump
As the race for the presidential election continues to heat up, Melania has made an unusual move by renegotiating her prenup.
One would expect that the renegotiation, which was done "quietly," was solely for Melania to get a bigger chunk of Trump's fortune for herself. However, sources said that her main priority was to secure the future of her son, Barron.
"Over the last year, Melania and her team have been quietly negotiating a new 'postnup' agreement between herself and Donald Trump," an insider said, per Page Six.
The insider added, "This is at least the third time Melania has renegotiated the terms of her marital agreement…Melania is most concerned about maintaining and increasing a substantial trust for their son, Barron."
It is believed that the new agreement also comes with extra perks for Melania, such as money and property.
Donald Trump's Legal Battles Also Spurred The Prenup Renegotiation
Still on the renegotiation, the same source stated that Trump's current legal battles also necessitated Melania's move, not that she was threatening to leave him.
"This agreement was necessary because of the current legal battles … [Donald] has suffered," said the insider. "Trump remains very rich, but with mounting legal bills and judgments," renegotiating the prenup would "provide a more solid future" for Melania and Barron.
The billionaire politician would be expected to pay massive amounts in fines, running into millions of dollars if he loses the suits. Topping the list of potential payouts is the $250 million civil case against Trump and his real estate business filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Trump was also ordered by a court to pay $5 million to E. James Caroll after she won a defamation case against him. He is currently appealing the case.
Melania Is Donald Trump's 'Secret Weapon'
Amid Trump's legal woes, it has been alleged that Melania has been the anchor keeping him stable.
A source from their inner circle described her as his "secret weapon" who "provides him a peaceful life when he needs it."
"Melania is being credited by his friends with keeping President Trump 'calm and focused' amid the hellish week of his being indicted for the third time," an insider told Page Six.
The source added: "Friends whisper these last few weeks have been hard on Trump, and although he always presents a tough front, these constant legal assaults are affecting his day-to-day life."
With regard to Trump's presidential bid, a source also pointed out that Melania is fully in support and isn't "afraid to give her honest opinions and advice."
The insider said: "She backs his bid for a second term completely, and listens to him when he needs someone he can trust . . . she is obsessively private, she never gossips with even her closest friends, so Trump knows when they talk about important things it's just between them."
