‘Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Reveals Two Options Regarding Her Relationship With Kody Brown

The drama in the Brown family reached scorching heights on the latest episode of "Sister Wives" as Meri Brown recalls her disastrous anniversary celebration with Kody Brown!

Months after the former spouses ended their polygamous union with a joint statement in January, the businesswoman was forced to face the harsh truth about her hopes of a reconciliation with her former beau. Sunday's episode of the TLC show captured Meri's emotional reflection on her future and whether Kody will be a part of it.

The Lizzie's Heritage Inn owner opened up about the dissolution of her marriage to Kody in a confessional. According to Meri, her vows to be with the Brown family's patriarch for better or worse was not a promise she wanted to break because things got tough.

The reality TV star stressed that ending their union "doesn't sit well with my values because I didn't marry Kody and make this eternal covenant just to be like, 'Mmm, it's not working for us. I think I'll peace out.'" The entertainer added, "Right now, I don't know what to do about it. I have no idea what to do about it."

Despite feeling uncertain about how to proceed regarding her relationship with the father of her children, the 52-year-old noted that she wished to remain "open and honest" about the former spouses' current positions. This is why Meri refused Kody's request to keep what happened between them a secret, recalling in her confessional that she told him:

"I'm not gonna go the rest of my life hiding the fact that this is the way that our relationship is and hiding the fact that you said to me you don't want to ever have a relationship with me. This is my story, too, and I have the right to tell my story."

Meri revealed two ways she planned on resolving her relationship with Kody, describing the first option as her current life as a fantastic businesswoman with no desire for a romantic relationship. In the bed and breakfast owner's words:

"Basically, to me, I see two options: continue living like I have for the past eight years or so, which is, you know, a freaking amazing, badass, independent person that is officially married to somebody but not emotionally, right?"

"And I can keep doing that. Or, I can terminate it. I can take the steps to move forward to be done with it," the entertainer concluded, hinting that she might grant Kody's wish to dissolve their relationship fully.

As stated, Sunday's episode of "Sister Wives" captured Meri's disastrous 32nd wedding anniversary celebrations. In her confessional, the entrepreneur recalled the relationship milestone had gone unnoticed by her former beau, forcing her to call him about marking the occasion.

However, Kody told viewers in a separate confessional that he "needed a reason to be able to say no" to Meri. "I just didn't think it was the right thing for me to do, and I had to think about that," the patriarch added.

Despite his reluctance, the polygamist accepted Meri's offer for dinner and even picked her up at her house. However, his gentlemanly charms ended there, as Kody's goal was to ensure this event never happened again.

"'I have no desire, Meri, to have a relationship with you.' He said, 'Don't you understand, Meri? This is never going to happen. Your life is not one that I want to insert myself into,'" the TV personality recounted Kody's conversation during their dinner.

"I'll never forget those words. This is the first time he's ever said this to me," she said. "That was very, very painful for me. I felt my heart really speeding up because I'm like, but you promised," Meri lamented in her confessional.

Before the duo's failed anniversary dinner, Meri experienced a rocky moment with her former lover in a previous episode of "Sister Wives." The patriarch showed zero support for his estranged wife when she announced her plans to move her clothing business to join her thriving B&B business in Utah following her mother's passing.

In a confessional, Kody reacted to the news, saying: "Meri and I don't have a marriage really…I think I see the writing on the wall. I'm literally waiting for her to catch up." Reflecting on his cold gesture, Meri confessed to being hurt by Kody's disinterest in her life. The reality TV star admitted:

"I was really just kind of hoping that he would care a little bit more. There wasn’t anything specific that I wanted him to say or do. I just wanted him to have an air of caring, and that just was not there."
