Garry Chapman Honored His Mother On The First Anniversary Of Her Death

This isn't the first time Garry has paid tribute to his mother. Back in 2020, he made an emotional post about her on the first anniversary of her death.

He wrote, "I guess I have to realize that it's only been 1 year. So many things have happened that I want to tell you about, and obviously so many things I need advice on."

"You always knew the path I was on and where it lead which helped you give me invaluable advice."

Garry, who was 19 at the time, made the post after he was released from the hospital for a head injury sustained during a car accident.

He concluded, "To think I've not been able to lean on you for a year now makes me uneasy; but if your lessons taught me anything I can't stop, I must keep going, until my dreams are a reality."

Beth's death was announced on Twitter by her husband, Duane, in the early hours of June 26, 2019.

"This is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain," said Duane in his post, per Jacksonville. "Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side."

Her death was due to complications from lung cancer, which she was diagnosed with back in 2018. Before that, she was diagnosed with throat cancer but was later declared free of it after a tumor was removed.

Her exploits with Duane led to them being honored by Hawaii lawmakers in 2017. The duo were known for capturing people who skipped out on their arrest warrants.
