"Friends" actor Matthew Perry recently spoke out, revealing how he wanted to be remembered if anything were to happen to him.

Unfortunately, Perry's body was discovered on Saturday evening, in his jacuzzi. At this time, the cause of death is believed to be drowning.

While promoting his 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing," the 54-year-old actor spoke out on how he wanted to be remembered whenever the time.

"[I want to be remembered] as a guy who lived life, loved well, lived well, and helped people," he said, adding, "That running into me was a good thing and not something bad.”

And that is exactly how Perry is being remembered. Following his death, fans immediately flooded the actor's social media, thanking him for all of the laughs and the inspiration he provided over the years.

One fan, who looked up to Perry’s character, Chandler Bing, on the sitcom “Friends”, commented on Perry's recent post, “REST IN PEACE. By far my favorite actor. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen myself with Chandler’s sense of humor. I’ve grown up watching ‘Friends’, and I still watch it to this day. I know every single line by heart. I can’t even begin to express how sad I am right now. Heaven now has the funniest person ever.”

Another fan expressed, “Forever grateful for all the joy you brought to my life. Will forever remember you and continue seeing you every night ❤️.”

It wasn't just the fans who have spoken out about Perry's legacy. Paget Brewster, who portrayed Kathy on “Friends”, released a heartfelt statement to her on-screen love interest, Chandler, played by Perry, after finding out about his passing.

I’m so very sad to hear about Matthew Perry,” she wrote, adding, “He was lovely to me on ‘Friends’ and every time I saw him in the decades after.”

The “Friends” actress then asked fans to “please read his book” as “it was his legacy to help”. She is referring to Perry’s 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing”, in which he opened up about his life, his struggle with alcohol and drugs, and even the one time doctors told him he had a “2% chance to live”.

“He won’t rest in peace though.. He’s already too busy making everyone laugh up there,” she concluded.

Morgan Fairchild, who portrayed Chandler Bing’s mom on the sitcom, spoke out on social media, writing:

“I’m heartbroken about the untimely death of my “son”, Matthew Perry. The loss of such a brilliant young actor is a shock. I’m sending love & condolences to his friends & family, especially his dad, John Bennett Perry, who I worked with on Flamingo Road & Falcon Crest. #RIPMatthew.”

The official 'Friends' and Warner Bros. social media accounts also posted about the news, writing: "We are devastated to learn of Matthew Perry's passing. He was a true gift to us all. Our heart goes out to his family, loved ones, and all of his fans."
