An active shooter has killed multiple people in Lewiston, Maine, in what is being reported as a "mass casualty" event.

According to multiple reports, police are responding to two different locations in the city and several individuals have been wounded. Maine State Police confirmed the shooting, issuing a statement saying, "Please stay off the streets and allow law enforcement to diffuse the situation. If you see any suspicious activity or individuals please call 911."

The suspect allegedly opened fire at two locations with a "long rifle" and it's unclear how many have died. Shockingly, one initial report claims "dozens" could be dead.

One report indicates the shooting started in a bowling alley called 'Spare Time' and the other location is a bar.
