Update: 4:40 PM PT:Jenelle Evans is addressing the arrest warrant and claiming that it is not true and that the outlet that broke the story is wrong. She writes, "There isn't any warrant issued...once again media lying again. It's getting insane at this point. Don't believe The Sun or The Ashley or these stupid Teen Mom fan pages because like I said they get stupid sources and don't fact-check beforehand."
David Eason, the husband of Jenelle Evans, is reportedly a wanted man after a warrant for his arrest was issued after he was slapped with misdemeanor child abuse charges.
As we reported, Evans and Eason were the subject of an investigation by the North Carolina police after the "Teen Mom" star's 14-year-old son went missing for the third time in a month. The investigation included allegations Eason injured the child after an altercation that left "visible marks" on Jenelle's son.
Warrant Issued For David Eason Arrest After Child Abuse Charges
According to reports, a warrant has already been filed in North Carolina for the arrest of Eason over child abuse charges involving his stepson Jace Evans. A court clerk confirmed the warrant, although it's unclear if he will have to turn himself in.
"I don't see anything that has been served. But there is a warrant out for his arrest," a clerk told The US Sun. Eason was charged earlier this week after shocking allegations about his treatment of the teenager came to light.
North Carolina’s Columbus County Police and Child Protective Services (CPS) got involved when Jace disappeared from home in September. He reportedly snuck out the window and ran into the woods. When he was later found, the young boy reportedly had "visible marks" on his arm and neck.
It's unclear if the marks were related to the incident, but a police report filed about the incident claimed the teenager often confided in his grandmother Barbara Evans about being physically assaulted by his stepfather. "She [Barbara] advised that she had spoken to [Jace] earlier in the evening when he called from an unknown number and told her about being assaulted by David Eason and that he ran away and was hiding," an excerpt of the police report reads.
According to one report, the police department and child protective services have a video of an assault involving Jace. The teenager's safety became quite concerning because he has been reported missing three times in the space of just one month. The 14-year-old first disappeared on August 15 after he was seen leaving school around 2:45 p.m. and didn’t return home.
He was later found "in the trees behind the school building" due to his location on Snapchat. The second time, Jenelle herself reported her son missing, claiming he wasn't reachable for hours. He was later found in the gas station 10 minutes from their home.
The "16 and Pregnant" star is not completely off the hook despite her husband's charges. She is still under investigation and could be charged.
Jenelle Break Silence Claims Cops Aren't Trustworthy Amid Abuse Charge
Following the news of Eason's child abuse charge, Jenelle, who has always maintained that her partner of six years is a good father to her son, took to Instagram to slam the authorities.
The reality star claimed that the police department conducted a biased investigation. "You would think the Police wouldn't make a one-sided police investigation," she wrote on social media. "They didn't conduct interviews, didn't ask any information from the parents. This seems like a very bias situation like every time before."
She continued, "I trusted that detective with all my heart. Forgot you can't trust cops silly me. I do not trust anyone around me. Going MIA for a while ✌️." In a follow-up rant, the television personality vowed to deal with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Department for their actions.
"Columbus County Sheriff’s Department I believe is the one doing the smearing campaign against my husband and needs to be held responsible," she began. Jenelle slammed the department for leaking information about the case to the media, saying they "Gave no f—s" and she has "the emails to prove it.
"An open investigation is supposed to be kept private under all circumstances especially when it involves kids," she lamented. Nevertheless, the 31-year-old plans to fight back. She concluded her rant. writing:
Let's go to court. I’ve been waiting on our day. I feel so violated by the system. Wait until the day you hear the truth…you will be begging me not to sue."
Jenelle shares Jace with her high school boyfriend, Andrew Lewis. She only got full custody of the boy in March after he lived with his grandmother for 10 years.
"My mom and I decided together to grant full custody back to me because we want to build our relationship back as mother and daughter," she wrote in a statement at the time.
The case is ongoing.
