6:02 PM PT: Not only was the fire not out, but it has now claimed a life. According to the FDNY, a 67-year-old man died after being pulled from his home on the 50th floor where the fire began. The FDNY Commissioner said in a press conference the man was unresponsive when he was removed.. He was rushed to Mount Sinai Rosevelt Hospital and declared dead. There were also four firefighters hurt during the blaze, two with burn related injuries.

4:00 PM PT: According to a tweet from President Trump, the fire is now out. The president also took the opportunity to thank the FDNY and compliment the construction of the building.

Firefighters in New York City are battling a blaze that has broken out inside Trump Tower.

According to the FDNY, there are currently no reported injuries at the 3-alarm fire in the famous Trump skyscraper. The fire is reportedly on the 50th floor, and several videos on social media show flames billowing out of the windows.

Authorities were called to the scene just after 6:00 PM ET, and least five fire trucks were seen responding to the fire on Fifth Avenue.

President Trump and his family are not in town, but he does have a penthouse residence and an office on the 26th floor of the tower.

The infamous Trump property was also the location of the infamous meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and members of the Trump presidential campaign with Russian individuals in 2016.
