'Sister Wives' Star Kody Brown Wants Christine's Influence On Jenelle To End

Kody Brown, the central figure in the "Sister Wives" family dynamic, has recently revealed the challenges he faced while attempting to reconcile with his estranged wife, Janelle Brown.

In a candid revelation, he attributed the breakdown of their reconciliation efforts to the influence of another key figure in the family — Christine Brown. Apart from trying to get back together, there is still the issue of the ongoing feud between the reality TV star and Janelle's two sons, Gabe and Garrison.

The intricacies of plural marriage continue to unfold in the Brown family as tensions rise on the popular reality show. Kody described his union with his fourth wife Robyn as a bond with "the love of my life" but noted that his relationships with ex-wives Christine and Janelle are far from simple.

On Sunday's episode of the hit TLC reality show, Kody spoke candidly about the different dynamics between them. The TV personality disclosed that there were varying levels of discord, leading to an overwhelming sense of disarray in their lives. 

When discussing his connection with Janelle, Kody said, "She doesn't want to reconcile." Even though they occasionally see each other and talk on the phone, the patriarch of the Brown family believes reconciliation is possible but would require Christine and Janelle to "sort of [be] like, 'It's been nice hanging out a lot.'"

The 54-year-old further implied, "Christine has so much influence over Janelle, I just think it's pathetic." Interestingly, he was reluctant to express his concerns directly to Janelle. He explained why stating:

"I'm afraid Christine will find out about it or if the kids will find out about it. It's like, I just don't want to talk about me."

Kody also noted his bafflement at why she would not be married to him now, given her history of being in a plural marriage when he was married to other wives. 

The author's pursuit to salvage his connection with his second wife has been a central theme in the latest season of "Sister Wives." Undeterred by the fact that their separation would soon hit its one-year mark, he orchestrated a birthday date with Janelle, aiming to reignite their romance.

While she remained composed during their outing to a high-end Arizona restaurant, the mother-of-six candidly expressed her true sentiments in the show's confessional: 

"I just don’t think there’s much path forward for Kody and I. We just are different people now. He thinks differently. He’s very, very wrapped up with the children at Robyn’s house. Robyn and he think a lot alike. They want to live the same kind of life. And I’m really looking for a relationship where I’m equally considered." 

The evening also took an uncomfortable turn for Kody when he voiced his desire for a goodnight kiss. This being a gesture she was unwilling to entertain, Janelle further shared, "At one point I slipped my hand into his out of habit, and I thought, ‘This feels really weird,’ and I took my hand back out of his hand. It just didn’t feel right anymore." 

Kody Brown, seemingly taken aback, sought to understand why reconciliation seemed impossible. However, Janelle, resolute in her stance, asserted: "You know, there just isn’t anything there anymore. There just isn’t. Our relationship has been unraveling for years." 

Turning a blind eye to all the drama, the resilient reality star took to Instagram to share a heartwarming family portrait. The 54-year-old beamed with joy in the snapshot, flanked by her children, their partners, and three adorable grandchildren. 

In the caption, Janelle expressed her happiness, writing, "Finally got a picture with my babies. Happy mama." The touching moment came in the wake of a publicized feud between her sons, Gabe and Garrison Brown, and their father. 

The tension was laid bare in an episode, where during an intimate gathering with fellow ex-sister wife, Christine, Janelle affirmed that she would not be partaking in the family's holiday celebrations at Robyn's residence. 

She also addressed the strained relationship between her estranged partner and sons, stating: "Kody feels like they owe him a big apology and some sort of conversation and stuff for being disrespectful." 

The doting mother also referred to the situation as a "disagreement" and firmly asserted her unwavering support for her children, emphasizing, "I always said I pick my kids before Kody. What am I going to do, go to Robyn’s house and hang out with Robyn’s kids and Mary and Kody?"
