The NFL has been highly promoting the Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce romance, which is upsetting many sports fans, including Kelly Clarkson.

In fact, the "Since U Been Gone" singer compared the coverage to Bravo. “It’s not hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people that like watching sports now,” Clarkson said during her morning talk show.

“It’s like you’re watching ‘Housewives’ while you’re watching,” she joked, before slamming the NFL commentators for “just talking about gossip things” during recent games.

“And you’re like, ‘So, what about the play?'” she said, adding that the couple is "taking over.”

Kelly Clarkson's slamming of the NFL came as she was talking to “Saturday Night Live” star Bowen Yang. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce both made surprise appearances on 'SNL' last weekend, which Yang admitted he could not believe.

“It was so wild. We didn’t expect them to come," the comedian said. I round the corner, they’re at the page desk and … I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s two of the tallest people I’ve ever seen. Who are they?'”

“And then I was like, ‘Oh, my goodness, wow, it’s them! OK, they’re here,’ and it was wild," he added.

The NFL recently defended its coverage of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce amid the backlash they have been receiving.

During “Sunday Night Football” a few weeks ago, NBC showed the “Bad Blood” singer a number of times, seemingly dismissing the fact that other big-name stars were in the same suite as her, including Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and Hugh Jackman. The channel also promoted Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” twice, and showed a commercial featuring Travis Kelce nearly five different times.

“We frequently change our bios and profile imagery based on what’s happening in and around our games, as well as culturally,” the NFL said in a statement to People. “The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce news has been a pop cultural moment we’ve leaned into in real time, as it’s an intersection of sport and entertainment, and we’ve seen an incredible amount of positivity around the sport.”

The league then compared it to their “Toy Story”-themed coverage on Sunday morning. “The vast majority of our content has remained focused on the game, our players and variety of other initiatives, including our Toy Story Funday Football alt-cast, the international games and more,” they said.

After the two made surprise appearances on "Saturday Night Live", they were spotted holding hands and kissing throughout the evening.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that at one point in the night, Kelce told Swift’s security guard that he could take over protecting her. “At one point, he actually told her security guard that he could step aside,” the source shared. “Like he’d take it from here.”

A different insider spoke to People, explaining that Kelce kept “going over and touching [Swift], putting his hand on her lower back or putting his hands on her waist, and then they would do a little kiss, and then they would go back to talking to whoever they were talking to. He kept checking in with her but gave her space to talk to other people in the room, both male and female, and he talked to a ton of people in the room, too.”

Travis Kelce cleared some things up about the date with Taylor Swift on his “New Heights” podcast, which he hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce, football player for the Philadelphia Eagles. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end talked about that moment when he placed his hand on a security guard’s back while he was out with the “Bad Blood” singer.

Jason Kelce asked his brother if he has received any backlash for doing so, which is when the tight end clarified that he never pushed the security guard, he simply put his hand on his back to show respect.

The Philadelphia Eagles player then asked Travis Kelce, “Have you had to enact any security of your own? Do you feel like you’re a security guard when you are with Taylor?”

To which, the Kansas City Chiefs player responded, “I feel like whenever I’m on a date, I’m always having the sense that I’m a man in the situation. I’m protective, yeah, for sure. You always have to have that feeling or self-awareness, I guess.”
