Prince's Vault Was Actually Behind a Vault Door, in a Room Called 'The Vault'

Prince's infamous vault of unreleased music was actually kept behind a vault door in a room in Paisley Park that was clearly labeled "The Vault."

In a series of photos taken two weeks after he died, police photographed inside the vault but also in the room where the vault was kept.

The room was marked "The Vault" and had several framed photos of Prince on the wall, alongside several awards and gold records. The floor of the outer room was littered with cardboard boxes and had dozens upon dozens of reel-to-reels on the floor.

Within the outer room, was an actual vault door that led to another room that was just filled with rows and rows of recordings. The room next door to The Vault was filled with guitars and drum kits.

Authorities in Minnesota on Thursday released thousands of videos and images taken from Paisley Park during the investigation into the death of the iconic singer.

A press conference was held by authorities in Minnesota on Thursday announcing there would be no charges related to Prince’s death in April of 2016. Mark Metz, the Carver County Attorney, explained that they believe Prince didn’t realize he was taking Vicodin laced with Fentanyl.

At the time of his death, police say there were no painkiller prescriptions in Prince’s name.

Following the press conference, the sheriff’s department released all records related to the investigation of his death. The records that were released by authorities included photos, notes and a video showing the lifeless body of the icon.
