Lance Bass Took A Taylor Swift-Related Dig At The NFL

Considering the NFL's obsession with what they have described as a pop culture moment, Lance Bass is out here making it clear that he's not Taylor Swift!

While attending the Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Chargers game in California, the *NSYNC star had a hilarious moment. The stadium's jumbotron showcased Bass while playing the band's 2000 song "Bye Bye Bye," and he didn't let the moment pass without acknowledging it with a joke targeted at the NFL.

Bass was one of the celebrities in attendance at SoFi Stadium during Monday Night Football. As the broadcast shifted its focus to various people and celebs in the crowd, they eventually turned the camera on the 44-year-old, who was seated in a private suite with his friends. 

Clearly ready for the spotlight, he had a sign on hand that humorously read "NOT TAYLOR SWIFT." He waved to the cheering crowd, subsequently sharing a video of the moment alongside the caption:

"In case anyone was confused. #LookWhatYouMadeMeDo #GoChargers! #NotTaylorSwift #MNF."

This playful reference comes amid the media hype surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs' games, following Swift's appearances to support her rumored boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Although she missed the NFL star's third game, when his team played the Minnesota Vikings, she returned last Thursday for his game against Russell Wilson and the Kansas City Broncos. 

And for every one of those moments, there was a camera honing in and following the "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" star's movements. The extra media coverage has become so noticeable that the NFL had to defend itself after multiple people called them out on social media. In a statement written to a media outlet, they claimed:

"We frequently change our bios and profile imagery based on what's happening in and around our games, as well as culturally. The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce news has been a pop cultural moment we've leaned into in real time, as it's an intersection of sport and entertainment, and we've seen an incredible amount of positivity around the sport."

The league compared themselves keeping tabs on Swift and Kelce to their "Toy Story"-themed coverage on Sunday morning. They added, "The vast majority of our content has remained focused on the game, our players, and [a] variety of other initiatives, including our Toy Story Funday Football alt-cast, the international games, and more."

This statement follows comments from Kelce regarding the widespread attention he and Swift have been getting. He declared, "I think everybody is just, like, overwhelmed."

As the source, Danny Suich claimed, the product was born from the prominence of red as a dominant color in the 2023 NFL season. In the words of the global brand director for Fireball:

He then seemingly hinted at Swift and Kelce's romance stating, "There are a lot of new football fans in the stands these days who may be looking for a bold way to support their favorite team or tight end with a spicy, RED new look, and, as always, Fireball is here to help. Because, in our opinion, every touchdown should taste like a championship parade."

The coy's choice of red for their lipstick won't shock Swifties, as the "Valentine's Day" actress often flaunts this bold lip color. Additionally, the color seems to hold significance in Swift's music career. Fans would recall that the Grammy Award winner dubbed the 2012 album, "Red" and she followed it with "The Red Tour," which ran from March 2013 to June 2014.
