Country music star Maren Morris and songwriter husband Ryan Hurd are calling it quits after being married for five years.
The pair, who seemed like a power couple since 2018 when they took their vows, have decided to take a permanent break.
In 2019, Morris revealed she was taking marriage hints from Hollywood power couple Nicole Kidman and Urban Keith. The "My Church" singer disclosed at the time that she owed a part of her successful marriage with Hurd to Kidman and Keith, as she learned a lot from them over the years.
Maren Morris Files For Divorce After Five Years
Musician Maren Morris, who recently revealed her exit from country music, is ending her relationship with her husband of five years, Ryan Hurd.
According to reports, Morris cited "irreconcilable difference" as her reason for a divorce after filing on October 2, 2023. It is unclear when the couple started having problems, but the news of their split has taken fans by surprise, who did not expect it.
The soon-to-be ex-lovers are said to have a prenup in place, which hints at a separation with hopefully no drama.
Morris and Hurd first came together in 2014 to co-write Tim McGraw's hit song "Last Turn Home," and in 2015, they officially started a romantic relationship. The pair got engaged two years later, and in 2018, they tied the knot in Nashville.
Over the years, the ex-couple seemed to have a beautiful marriage. Nevertheless, Morris once commented on how hard they tried to make things work as long-distance lovers.
Maren Morris Was In A Long Distance Relationship
During a 2019 interview with US Weekly for the YouTube Music & Maren Morris Fan Experience, the 28-year-old singer sang high praises for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, whom she said were her inspiration for a long-distance relationship.
"I've learned so much from Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. They've got the two-week rule..." she mentioned to the outlet. She went on to say that the couple makes long-distance feel normal, which could, in turn, give her and Hurd a chance to feel the same way.
While engaging in a long-distance romance can be tricky, Morris noted that she and Hurd tried their best to do everything they could right. From having similar managers to keeping the line of communication open, the pair tried to balance things out the best way they could. However, despite their busy timelines, the Grammy winner was candid about the importance of seeing her partner physically.
