Heidi Klum Shares Throwback Swimsuit Snaps From A 1992 Modeling Competition

It looks like model Heidi Klum is feeling rather nostalgic!

The 50-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model took to Instagram to share where her career began with photos from her application to a modeling competition in 1992.

On Saturday night, the “America’s Got Talent” judge shared a whole Instagram carousel that contained polaroids of her wearing various swimsuits. She revealed that these snapshots were from a modeling competition that she applied to in 1992.

“Ähnlich wie ich mir Fotos und Videos von Models fuer GNTM ansehe , so waren diese Fotos meine Bewerbungsfotos fuer meinen Model Wettbewerb von 1992,” she wrote in the caption of her post. “Meine Mom hat mir eine Kiste mit vielen alten Fotos aus dem Keller mitgebracht.”

This can be loosely translated as: “Similarly to how I look at photos and videos of models for GNTM, these photos were my application photos for my 1992 modeling competition. My mom brought me a box of lots of old pictures from the basement.”

She followed it up with a black and white photograph that she captioned, “16 year old me.”

The "Germany's Next Top Model" star is still modeling along with her daughter Leni Klum in yet another Intimissimi campaign. The two have faced backlash modeling for the Italian lingerie company in the past, and their ad campaign was even splashed across billboards in Germany earlier this summer.

“Unsere neue Kampagne für @intimissimiofficial ist da! Die neue Kollektion ist ab sofort online und in allen Intimissimi Geschäften erhältlich!” she wrote in the caption, adding, “Our new campaign for @intimissimiofficial is out now! Explore the new collection now online and in all Intimissimi stores!”

She followed it up with another image of her posing by herself in purple lingerie. “New @intimissimiofficial,” she wrote in the caption along with three purple heart emojis. She also followed it up with the hashtags “ad,” “intimissimi,” “the art of Italian lingerie,” and “Heidi x Leni x Intimissimi.”

Leni also took to Instagram to promote their collaboration. In her caption, she wrote, “The new @intimissimiofficial campaign is out now! The collection is now available in all Intimissimi stores!” adding, “Die neue @intimissimiofficial-Kampagne ist jetzt erhältlich! Die Kollektion ist ab sofort in allen Intimissimi-Filialen erhältlich!”

Although Heidi turns comments off on her Instagram posts, Leni left them on. Many were not happy with what they perceived to be too much photoshop. “Da siehste schon gut aus und wirst trotzdem noch gephotoshopt,” one user wrote, which can be loosely translated to, “You already look good and you're still photoshopped.”

Another follower wrote, “sie ist eigentlich so hübsch… aber die schlimme bearbeitung..sie sieht aus wie eine puppe” or “She is actually so pretty... the lousy editing tho... she looks like a doll.” A third fan agreed, adding, “Die Bearbeitung ist grauenhaft... sie ist doch eigentlich so schön.. da braucht es das nicht,” or “The editing is horrific... she is actually so beautiful.. there is no need for that.” Other followers expressed their agreement, with one fan admitting, “Yes, it looks like AI.”

Earlier this year, Heidi told the Daily Mail that she was “proud” of her daughter pursuing a career as a model, even as she studies interior design at a college in New York City.

“It’s been fun to shoot together,” she told the outlet. “To do photoshoots together with her and just to see how she’s just very comfortable and also comfortable around me even when we’re doing underwear shoots or something like that.”

“It makes me proud that my daughter is super comfortable in her skin also in front of me and around me because not every kid is in the world,” she continued. “So, I love that we have this beautiful relationship.”
