Britney Spears Spotted In NYC Ahead Of Memoir Release

Pop star Britney Spears has finally made her way to the Big Apple!

At this time, it is unclear if the 41-year-old Princess of Pop is in New York City for business or pleasure, but fans are hoping that she might be on the East Coast to do some promotions for her highly anticipated memoir, "The Woman In Me," which is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

The "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer was spotted out and about on Wednesday night in New York City. It appears that she has ended her controversial water fast, as she was spotted grabbing sushi with some famous faces.

On Thursday morning, a source told Page Six that the pop star enjoyed a late-night sushi dinner with Maluma and J Balvin at Zero Bond. “The guys flagged her down, and she and her group joined them,” the insider said. “Everyone was in good spirits. Britney was all smiles and so happy to be back in New York for the first time in a while.”

It’s said that the dinner conversation focused on music and her upcoming memoir, “The Woman In Me.” Britney did not post about the outing, or anything else, on Wednesday night. Maluma shared a video of him and Balvin hanging out on his Instagram Stories but did not include a video of Britney at the dinner.

Regardless, a photograph later surfaced online that featured the three of them at the members-only club.

Britney can be seen in the middle of the group, sticking out her tongue for the camera. She is wearing a white long-sleeve bejeweled top with a plunging neckline along with aviator sunglasses, even though the group was indoors.

Although many fans were hoping that the “Toxic” singer would sit down for an interview, it looks like she has decided against it. A source told the outlet that Britney herself made the decision not to sit down for an interview in order to let the book speak for itself.

“Britney is presented with every request that comes in. It’s her decision,” the source said. “But at the moment, she does feel, ‘Let’s let this book speak for itself.”

The news that Britney was first writing a book broke in February 2022, after Simon & Schuster won the publishing rights. Britney then signed a $15 million dollar deal to tell her life story months after her 13-year conservatorship was struck down by a judge in November 2021.

“No stone is left unturned. It’s truly a female empowerment story — her taking control of her life,” a source told the outlet in April, adding that the book is “brutally honest and from the heart.”

Although the “Gimme More” singer did not want to do an audiobook for her memoir at first, it looks like she has since changed her mind. On Thursday morning, sources told TMZ that an audiobook would be released; however, Britney is only narrating certain portions of the book. Certain elements that she discusses in her tell-all memoir, especially those involving her estranged family, will not be narrated by her.

Instead, Britney’s team has tapped a secret celebrity in order to narrate the rest of her book. It’s not clear exactly how much of the book this celebrity has covered, but it appears that they covered parts of her life that were too difficult for the singer to relive.

It’s not clear who the secret celebrity is just yet, although sources told the outlet that Britney’s team really pushed for actress Reese Witherspoon to be the voice of Britney’s memoir. Unfortunately, it seems that she was unavailable. After approaching only female celebrities for the audiobook, it appears that the publishing house was able to find someone to complete the audiobook, which is ready for distribution in less than two weeks.

That person’s identity is still under wraps, but many fans have speculated that Paris Hilton, a close friend of Britney Spears for decades, might have voiced Britney’s story.

Britney Spears met actor Sam Asghari on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016. They dated for several years and became engaged in September 2021, only two months before Britney was freed of her controversial conservatorship. They got married in the backyard of her Thousand Oaks estate in June 2022.

On August 16, the “Special Ops: Lioness” actor filed for divorce after approximately fourteen months of marriage following accusations of infidelity. There will not be many details about the divorce included in her memoir as the divorce proceedings are currently underway.
