Cher has spoken out for the first time on the scathing allegations by her daughter-in-law that she kidnapped her 47-year-old son, Elijah Blue Allman.

In September, unearthed court documents revealed that Cher's son's wife, Marieangela King, accused the singer of hiring four men to abduct her husband on their wedding anniversary.

King also accused Cher of throwing her out of the home she shares with Elijah and restricting her access to their assets.

Legendary music artist Cher was the subject of controversy when it was revealed that her daughter-in-law, Marieangela King, accused her of abducting her second son, Elijah Blue Allman, in a court declaration last December.

King claimed that Cher was worried about her son's health. This allegedly led to her forceful intervention, where four people entered their hotel room to remove Elijah on the "Believe" singer's orders.

She wrote, "On November 30, 2022, the night of our wedding anniversary, four people came to our hotel room and removed (Elijah) from our room. I was told by one of the four men who took him (Elijah's) mother hired them."

In a chat with People magazine, Cher said the claim was "not true." She further talked about her worries as a mother and why she would do everything in her power to help Eliah.

"I'm not suffering from any problem that millions of people in the United States aren't," Cher said about her son's battle with addiction.

She continued, "I'm a mother. This is my job — one way or another, to try to help my children. You do anything for your children. Whenever you can help them, you just do it because that's what being a mother is. But it's joy, even with heartache — mostly, when you think of your children, you just smile and you love them, and you try to be there for them."
