Conor McGregorsubmitted his paperwork for the USADA testing pool to return to the UFC following his brutal leg break against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

The Irish fighter took to his Instagram last week to announce that he has submitted paperwork to UFC’s Senior Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance, Jeff Novitzky.

The news came after McGregor failed to meet the USADA drug testing deadline to fight MMA star Michael Chandler, which had Chandler fuming.

McGregor vs Chandler was one of the most anticipated fights as the two went head-to-head for the most recent season of "The Ultimate Fighter".

The fight was being talked about for December 2023, however, if McGregor wanted to fight by the end of the year, he had to have been back in the USADA pool by June 1 as he needed to submit two negative tests and complete random drug tests for the next six months before being allowed to fight.

It seems Michael Chandler is tired of waiting for the Irish fighter, as he recently called out another MMA star — Nate Diaz. The 37-year-old recently spoke out on The MMA Hour, calling out Conor McGregor for wasting everyone’s time with their supposed matchup in December.

“There are some moments where I’m like, is Conor coming back?” Chandler admitted on The MMA Hour. “You know? Is he just trolling us all? Is he a real fighter anymore? Is he a real fighter?”

Michael Chandler added that he is tired of waiting for ‘The Notorious’ and wants to fight a “real fighter” — Nate Diaz. “Then, you think about who’s a real fighter; Nate Diaz is a real fighter. I’m a real fighter,” Chandler added.

The USADA released a statement on McGregor's return, stating:

"We have recently been in direct contact with Conor McGregor. As he confirmed today in the media, we expect to receive his paperwork coming out of retirement and re-entering the USADA testing pool immediately.

Like other athletes who come out of retirement, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, McGregor will be subject to testing for at least six months and must provide at least two negative samples before being permitted to compete.

The purpose of this rule is to ensure that all athletes who are not subject to a period of testing are adequately tested over a reasonable period of time before competing to ensure a level playing field for all athletes."

Now it seems Chandler is the one trolling McGregor as he just posed a video to Instagram, mocking his future opponent on "pool" day.

"Pool day…See you at the top!" Chandler captioned the video, which showed a photo of McGregor's face on top of an individual being thrown into a pool of water. The video was obviously aimed at the Irishman, who has been failing to meet the requirements of the USADA to fight Chandler in December. Conor McGregor has, however, officially submitted his paperwork, meaning a fight could happen early next year.

Chandler, on the other hand, has been very open about his drug testing, seemingly hitting the requirements every time it was asked of him.

Dana White, President of the UFC, noted that at this time, McGregor has no fights lined up — including the one that was supposed to happen with Michael Chandler following “The Ultimate Fighter.”

“I literally have nothing planned for Conor McGregor right now. The paperwork is being submitted; we’ll play it by ear and see how things play out. There are still a lot of things that have to happen as far as fights go, and then we’ll decide where is going to land,” White stated.
