Kylie Jenner has garnered support for her statements in favor of Israel during its conflict with Hamas. The beauty mogul posted her stance on Instagram, but it faced criticism from individuals sympathetic to Palestine, ultimately leading her to remove the post.
A pro-Israel organization has now stated that it is a shame that people cannot express themselves due to backlash from "Hamas sympathizers."
Another Jewish organization applauded Jenner for speaking up and asked that more celebrities support Israel. Amid the crisis and the rising death toll, several countries have also expressed their support for the parties involved in the conflict.
Pro-Israel Organization Backs Kylie Jenner
Following a series of missile attacks by Hamas terrorists on Israel, Jenner posted a picture on Instagram featuring the Israeli flag with the caption, "Now and always, we stand with the people of Israel." She also tagged StandWithUS, an international nonprofit organization focused on Israeli education.
However, she was forced to delete her support post for the Jewish nation after receiving a barrage of negative remarks in the comment section.
Now, the American socialite has been backed by Roz Rothstein, co-founder and CEO of StandWithUs, who believes that Jenner should not have been pressured into deleting her post by people she described as "Hamas sympathizers."
"It's a shame that some people cannot express themselves honestly because of intense pressure and intimidation by Hamas sympathizers," Rothstein said while thanking Jenner for speaking up in support of Israel amid the current crisis, per TMZ.
More Support For Kylie Jenner's Remarks
A different organization, known as the American Jewish Committee, also appreciated Jenner for speaking up when she did and hoped she would post the post on her Instagram page.
"[She] did the right thing and acted with her heart with her initial post," said AJC spokesman Richard Hirschhaut, adding she "should be applauded for speaking up and speaking out."
He also pointed out that more "messages of love, support, and solidarity with Israel" are needed from other celebrities as they battle the Hamas terrorist organization, who have allegedly utilized social media to flaunt their "sheer barbarity."
Hirschhaut added, "The power of social media and the power of celebrity is desperately needed when Israel is at war and under attack by a terrorist organization that is barbaric, inhumane, and immoral."
The Israel-Hamas Fight
Last Saturday, Hamas, the Palestinian militant group controlling the Gaza Strip bordering Israel, initiated its most significant surprise attack, almost 50 years after Israel was involved in the Yom Kippur War.
The attacks coincided with the holiday of Simchat Torah. They started with the terrorists launching thousands of rockets, hitting targets as distant as Tel Aviv and the outskirts of Jerusalem. However, most were warded off by Israel's advanced Iron Dome missile defense system.
Next, the Hamas terrorists infiltrated 22 Israeli towns and military bases by land, sea, and air, taking civilians and soldiers hostage.
Israel responded with substantial strikes on cities within the blockaded Gaza Strip, destroying numerous buildings, including multistory structures, residences, schools, a hospital, and a mosque. They have also reportedly captured most of the area and sent tank units ahead of a full-scale attack on land against the terrorist organization.
The Death Toll Is Rising
Since the start of the war, over 1,000 people have been reported dead, and more casualties are expected in the coming days.
The ongoing conflict also risks expanding into a broader regional confrontation in the wake of calls from Hamas terrorists to other organizations that sympathize with their cause.
One of them is the Lebanese Shiite, a militant organization that fought a war with Israel in 2006. The group recently shared that it was "closely following the important developments in the Palestinian situation with great interest," hinting at getting in the mix if needed, per the New York Times.
Other Middle Eastern nations like Iran, Lebanon, and Qatar have also shown support for Hamas in recent statements released to the press. Meanwhile, Israel has seen countries like the US, UK, Australia, France, Norway, and Austria voice their support for them.
