During a chat on the "Today" show, "Planet of the Apes" actor Mark Wahlberg got candid about experiencing a sense of regret after seeing his daughter, Ella Rae, in her college during a trip with his wife, Rhea Durham, to South Carolina for "parents' weekend."

According to Wahlberg, getting to see "sorority girls" and a "frat house" made him realize how much he missed out on by skipping college.

"She's just so happy there. She's really thriving," Wahlberg said of his daughter, per Fox News.

The actor then continued, "We just went to parents' weekend, you know with the sorority girls and the frat house. It was like, 'Oh my God.' I definitely felt like I never really had too many regrets about not going to college until I saw (this)."

In a chat with E! News, Wahlberg shared that his family’s move to Las Vegas had been a favorable change for them. The 51-year-old disclosed that his kids love their time in Sin City after he and Durham decided to leave Los Angeles for their children’s well-being.

According to the "Ted" star, his children “love Vegas.” Wahlberg also noted that while he had spent a lot of time chasing his interests and career in L.A., it was now time for his kids to pursue theirs in Las Vegas.

He said, “I spent lots of time in L.A. pursuing my interests and my career, and now it’s time for them to pursue theirs.”

Wahlberg revealed that the business opportunity in Las Vegas was a significant factor in his decision to relocate.

The "Father Stu" actor talked about his dream of creating a Vegas-based film studio and a shoe factory, which will create jobs for the city’s population.

“There’s lots of opportunity for growth here, and the government, especially our new governor, is looking for opportunities to create jobs outside of gaming,” he said, per Fox News.

“So we’re looking to create 10,000 jobs in the studio alone. The average salary would be $100,000 more than what it is now. We want to train people both in front of and behind the camera, create jobs, and most importantly, first and foremost, for locals,” Wahlberg added.

Wahlberg is one of the most well-known Catholic celebrities in the entertainment industry. During an appearance on the "Today" show earlier this year, he talked about religion in his household, noting that he doesn’t plan on forcing it on his kids but hopes they find their way to the faith.

"Again, I don’t force it on them," he said. "Before it was like 'OK, everybody’s got to be in Catholic school. We’ve got to go to Mass every Sunday.' But that can also create some resentment. I want them to gravitate towards it in a very natural way."

He previously spoke on his Catholic faith and his kids in a previous appearance on "Today" in 2022, noting that they think he's "boring" for it.

"They think Dad’s crazy, and he’s boring,” he said then. “But even with my faith, I don’t force it on them. But they know that Dad can’t start the day without being in prayer, can’t start the day without reading my Scripture or going to Mass."
