19-Year-Old Arrested With Terrifying Plans To 'Kill Everyone' At His Former High School

A 19-year-old Florida man is in custody for allegedly threatening to "kill everyone" at his former high school and other family members.

On September 27, Henry Horton IV was arrested in South Florida following a traffic stop. Police found handwritten threats in his vehicle detailing plans to "kill everyone" at his former high school and other schools across the states in 2026, on his 22nd birthday.

Further investigations revealed intentions for mass murder attacks, bomb-making plans, and harm to his stepmother. He's charged with written threats and held on a $1 million bond. Horton has a history of mental health issues, and his family is pleading for him to receive proper treatment rather than face charges.

On September 27, a 19-year-old South Florida man named Henry Horton IV was arrested in Jupiter following a traffic stop for a broken headlight.

As reported by WBPF, during the consented search of Horton's vehicle, handwritten threats were discovered outlining disturbing plans to "kill everyone" at his former high school, as well as at schools in other states, all scheduled for his 22nd birthday on January 2, 2026.

One of the notes, which read, "Kill everyone at OHS with my guns," included a reference to Okeechobee High School, where Horton had graduated in May 2022, and detailed intentions to target 14 individuals and an administrator at the school.

Further investigations found alarming details on his phone and Discord account, including plans for mass murder attacks in various states, bomb-making plans, and intentions to harm his stepmother.

As confirmed by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Horton IV disclosed during an interview with authorities that he had been in Palm Beach County for a survey related to an impending attack on the El Rey Jesus Church in Miami.

Additionally, he claimed to have conducted surveillance at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, where a tragic mass shooting occurred in 2018.

In addition to the threatening notes, a 9MM handgun, which Horton admitted to stealing from his mother, was also seized by the police.

He has been charged with intimidation through written threats to kill or harm others. Currently, he is held at the Palm Beach County Jail on a $1 million bond and is scheduled for a court appearance in November.

At the time of his arrest, Horton IV, who has a documented history of mental health challenges, was initially placed under the provisions of Florida's Baker Act.

Speaking to WPF, his mother, Marcie Horton, pleaded for him to receive the necessary mental health care rather than facing charges. She emphasized that her son, despite his disturbing plans, is fundamentally a "good kid" and wouldn't have carried out his threats. It's no excuse for what he wrote. I'm not saying that, but he needs help," she said.

Alisha Horton, Henry's stepmother, who was on his hit list, also supported his innocence and called for him to be treated for his mental disability rather than prosecuted as a criminal. "Henry isn't going to hurt me," she told the outlet. "He would never… He needs to be treated for a mental disability instead of as a criminal."

According to Horton's mother, he voluntarily admitted himself to a mental hospital while residing with his stepmother and father in Virginia.

However, she noted that despite the two-week stay, he remained undiagnosed. Expressing her frustrations, Marcie said, "All they did was pump him full of medicine."

Alisha, his stepmother, also shared that she implored the prosecutor's office not to impose a no-contact order and to facilitate Henry's treatment. Nevertheless, a no-contact order was issued, accompanied by the $1 million bond, leaving Henry incarcerated.

Both Alisha and Marcie emphasized his need for mental health treatment and a diagnosis, asserting that he poses no threat to society. "He is not getting the treatment that he needs," Alisha said. "All they are doing is making him a criminal when he needs help. He needs help to figure out what is going on mentally."
