Ireland Baldwin Admits She Found Out She Was Pregnant At The VET

New mom Ireland Baldwin recently gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Holland, with her longtime boyfriend, RAC.

Although the 27-year-old daughter of actor Alec Baldwin and actress Kim Basinger waited until New Year's Eve to announce her pregnancy on Instagram, the first-time mom revealed that she first found out that she was pregnant on October 6, 2022.

While holding her daughter, Holland, in her arms, Ireland reflected on how she found out she was pregnant in a candid Instagram post shared with her 667 thousand followers. “One year ago, I found out I was pregnant,” she began. “My best friend came to visit. My boyfriend Andre and I picked her up from the airport and went for lunch. We must have eaten 100 oysters and splurged hard on a few bottles of white wine.”

“I honestly thought I felt sick from all the shellfish and day drinking but I am historically known amongst my close friends for taking randomized pregnancy tests through the years because I’m paranoid and always think stomach aches are pregnancy or cancer or possibly an alien invasive species,” she confessed. “I was also known amongst my girlfriends for always getting my period on the DOT.”

“So when I realized that also hadn’t shown up on time, well… oysters and wine don’t necessarily do that. While all of this took place, my German shepherd was at an animal hospital being treated for pancreatitis,” she explained. “This same day was also a major celebration because my dog was ready to be picked up to go home after weeks in the hospital and the uncertainty that she would make it.”

“My friend Maddie and I drove that evening to the vet and I told Maddie we were making a pit stop at CVS so I could grab a pregnancy test. She rolled her eyes and laughed because she was used to my paranoia,” she wrote. “We grabbed the test at CVS across the street from the animal hospital. The checkout lady said ‘GOOD LUCK!’ as we hurried out the door.”

“We walked into the vet to grab my dog and as we were sitting in the waiting area, I was overcome with this intense feeling that I needed to go pee on that stick right now,” she explained. “I told Maddie I was going to take the test in the bathroom and she replied ‘HERE?!? You can’t wait?!’ No, I couldn’t.”

“I went to the bathroom, peed on the stick, washed off, and paced back and forth. And there it was. Right there in the Blue Pearl Animal Hospital bathroom was a positive pee stick,” she wrote. “The first day of my next life. I texted Maddie that she needed to join me in the bathroom immediately and she snapped the photo of me hysterically laughing in absolute shock.”

“In very typical Ireland fashion, I found out I was pregnant in a vet clinic. Some moments feel like Ben and most moments feel like the panda bears. Getting to heal my inner child through her has been a gift,” she concluded, referring to the photos of Ben Affleck and the panda bears on the final slides of her Instagram post.

Ireland’s candid admission prompted many fans to open up about their own pregnancy discoveries as well. “I peed on a stick in the bathroom of the Italian restaurant I managed 17 years ago. I just knew and couldn't wait. He's a senior in high school now, and it's hard to believe it was that long ago. I would've loved to have found out in a vet office bathroom though! It would've made total sense,” one fan commented.
