Hulk Hogan Unravels Controversy Surrounding His Netflix Biopic
With an illustrious wrestling career that spanned an impressive 35 years, marked by an unprecedented six-time reign as the World Heavyweight Champion, it was expected that someone would want to tell his life's story.
Although fans celebrated the announcement of a biopic about the wrestling icon, the prospect of Hemsworth taking on the lead role also added to the excitement for both wrestling enthusiasts and movie buffs.
However, no one knows whether it will still happen, so the wrestling legend addressed the issue in a conversation with Chris Van Vliet. The 70-year-old revealed that the stalling "was a situation where, business-wise, Netflix missed the date as far as a business situation. So, I had a choice at that time to switch gears."
However, Hulk noted that although there was a "business glitch" that they tried to fix, he had "already decided to move on." This meant that his "life rights and stuff are somewhere else now, and there's a lot of things that are getting ready to happen."
Hulk disclosed that the script, written by Scott Silva — whose work also includes the famous film "The Joker," — was terrific, comparing it to movies he loved like "Scarface" and "The Godfather."
Hogan also hoped that "Todd Phillips and Chris Hemsworth will still want to play, but there's still a huge opportunity there." Before Vliet asked the "No Holds Barred" star about the progress of his biopic, he had posed the same question to Hemsworth, who was set to play the accomplished wrestler.
This conversation, which took place last year while the "Thor" star was promoting the Netflix film "Spiderhead," saw him sharing his uncertainty about embracing the power of Hulkamania anytime soon.
The "Thor: Love and Thunder" actor disclosed, "Todd Phillips is busy doing Joker 2, I believe, and I've been off doing other films. It's all in conversations and development, and like many things, a lot of things need to come together for it to happen. But I don't have 24-inch pythons... yet."
Brooke Hogan Sets the Record Straight On Absence From Father's Wedding
Hogan is not the only person in his family clearing the air about certain speculations. The "Mr. Nanny" star's daughter also explained her nonattendance at his recent wedding.
ICYMI, the WWE legend exchanged vows for the third time with yoga instructor Sky Daily in an intimate ceremony. But, although the event was joyous, it did not escape notice that Brooke was missing.
As a result of the buzz it created, the TV personality decided to offer clarity on the matter. Taking to her Instagram page, she began her lengthy statement, writing:
"As many of you know, I value my privacy, but unfortunately, a lot of media outlets are making assumptions as to why I did not attend my father's third wedding. Instead of leaving it to speculation, I decided it's better to shut it all down here."
The singer acknowledged that families go through shifts and transformations as time passes, pointing out that her family "has experienced a LOT of change." The 35-year-old noted that due to how things had unfolded in her family, especially in the public's view, she had to discover the most effective way to handle conflicts or controversies. In her words:
"I've had to learn how to best navigate those changes as they come, which has been difficult, to say the least."
Opening up about her relationship with her father and the Hogan family, the reality TV star stated, "For my own journey to healing and happiness, I have chosen to create some distance between myself and my family, am focusing on people and things that heal my heart and align with my own personal beliefs, goals, and values."
But, despite the distance, the actress emphasized that she held no ill will towards her father, expressing her genuine well-wishes for him.
