Alexis Adams, the mother of rapper Flo Rida's 6-year-old son, Zohar Dillard, is seeking a substantial settlement of $40 million in her ongoing legal battle.
The legal dispute stems from a tragic incident in March when Zohar fell from a 5th-story window, resulting in severe injuries.
Adams alleges that incorrectly sized window guards contributed to the fall, demanding a jury trial, punitive damages, and coverage for medical expenses. Flo Rida, while expressing gratitude for his son's recovery, is not involved in the lawsuit.
Flo Rida's Baby Mama Alexis Adams Wants To Settle For $40 Million
Alexis Adams, the mother of Flo Rida's 6-year-old son, Zohar Dillard, has made a significant demand in her ongoing legal battle. In recent legal documents obtained by TMZ, Adams is seeking a substantial settlement of $40 million in total.
She targets various parties, including the owners and managers of her New Jersey apartment building, a construction company, a window installer, and others.
Adams' demand is split into $20 million from one group of defendants and another $20 million from a separate set of defendants. However, there is currently no indication in the legal documents that any of the defendants are willing to accept such a substantial payout to resolve the case.
Flo Rida's Baby Mama Blames Construction And Window Installation Company
This legal dispute originated from a tragic incident that occurred in March when Dillard, Adams' 6-year-old son, fell from a 5th-story window of her New Jersey apartment. The fall resulted in severe injuries, leading to Zohar's hospitalization in the ICU.
Remarkably, he survived the 50-foot plunge, although he had to endure wearing a full-body cast and relearning how to walk.
In response to the fatal fall, Adams filed a lawsuit against multiple parties, including a construction company and a window installation company, holding them responsible for the incident. She alleges that "incorrectly sized guards" on the windows contributed to her son's fall.
In her legal documents, Adams also revealed that the fall had caused permanent injuries, rendering her son unable "to perform his usual functions."
In the initial civil lawsuit, Adams, acting as guardian to her son Zohar, demanded a trial by jury, punitive damages, and coverage for her son's extensive medical expenses. She detailed his extensive injuries, which included fractures in his pelvis and left foot, a lacerated liver, collapsed lungs, and internal bleeding.
'My Heart Is Broken Into A Million Pieces'
In an emotional statement to News 12 New Jersey at the time, Adams expressed her anguish, describing her situation as a single mother to a special-needs child as a "nightmare."
"My heart is broken into a million pieces," she said.
Adams added: "I am devastated, angry, and struggling to come to terms with the fact that my only child has suffered severe injuries due to willful negligence of our landlord and others involved in failing to take necessary safety measures."
After the shocking incident, residents in Adams' apartment building expressed disbelief at Zohar's survival following his fall from the fifth floor.
James Lucas, a neighbor residing on the sixth floor of the building, spoke to Daily Mail and recounted seeing the child's "lifeless" body sprawled on the concrete below. He admitted, "He was just on the ground, not moving, I thought he wasn't going to live."
Lucas, who shares a similar apartment layout with Adams, raised concerns about the building's windows, noting a child could "definitely stand on" the sill.
Reflecting on the situation, he remarked, "You can definitely, if you're a kid, stand on that sill, but my kids haven't been here. I think they should look into window guards for sure."
Flo Rida Says His Son Is Getting The 'Best Medical Care'
Following the tragic incident in March, Flo Rida took to Instagram to share the news with his 900,000 followers.
In the post, he expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and informed his followers that his son was "getting the best medical care" and had miraculously survived the fall.
He requested continued prayers for his son's rehabilitation, adding: "I ask for your continued prayers as he undergoes rehabilitation," emphasizing that this remained a "private matter."
Flo Rida concluded his message by writing: "I am just so grateful that my son is alive, fighting, and is still here with me. He's a real-life superhero." However, it's worth noting that the rapper is not involved in the lawsuit and settlement related to the incident.
