Jenelle Evans & Her Husband Under Investigation For Child Neglect After Son's Third Disappearance

David Eason And Jenelle Evans raised suspicions of neglecting their teenage son, Jace, after news that he disappeared from their home. 

The couple is now under investigation as the recent incident worried the authorities.

Eason and Evans are under investigation for child neglect after their 14-year-old son Jace went missing again. The couple has reported the middle schooler missing three times in the past two months.

While the authorities found him shortly after, the disappearances have raised suspicions about Jace's relationship with Eason and the "Teen Mom" star. According to TMZ, the police have decided to investigate the matter to determine why the teenager was acting differently.

While Evans called Jace rebellious in the past, sources told the outlet that things were more complicated. The teenager raised suspicions of assault to the police, although neither Eason nor Evans have commented on it. Evans, who shares Jace with Andrew Lewis, has sole custody of him after birthing him as a teenager. The investigations could affect her custody of Jace if the police find evidence to support the assault claims.

Jace went missing twice before the most recent report. After a futile search for her son for hours, Evans called the police to help. The authorities later reported, per TMZ, that Jace was found by a gas station close to his home.

The teenager was wondering about when they picked him up for safety. The police didn't confirm if Jace was alone or hanging around his friends. However, the "16 And Pregnant" star was glad to have him back home.

Evans first reported her child missing after he left his school following an argument between them. In August, the reality TV star revealed to the police that Jace ran away because she seized his phone as punishment. The teenager was allegedly rebellious, causing the school authorities to contact Evans. At the time, the 31-year-old told TMZ in a statement that Jace was acting up like all teens do.

She explained that he wanted more freedom and considered himself more mature than he was being treated. 

Evans noted, "Jace is a good kid, and we're not dealing with anything that most families don't deal with while raising children." The actress assured that Jace's behavior had "absolutely nothing to do with" her and Eason, as they shield him from their arguments.

At the time, the duo had relationship issues, which Evans made public. She said, "We do not argue in front of our children or fight in front of our kids. This teenage boy is mad that we decided to take his phone away." Given the recent discovery, the public is more suspicious that Jace is responding to his parents' negative behavior towards him.

After finding Jace for the third time, the police discovered marks on his arms and neck. The spots raised suspicions of assault, which sources confirmed to TMZ. Evans's mother, Barbara, also told the police that Eason was to blame for the multiple disappearances. While they're unsure if Eason is responsible for the marks, the authorities are reviewing a video to confirm.

After news of the possible assault went viral, Evans came out to defend her husband in a tweet. She explained that Jace's behavior wasn't linked to Eason, and he wasn't to blame. Evans accused Barbara, who previously had custody of Jace, of telling lies. "My mom says a lot of untrue things lately to everyone about me," she said. Evans added, "Imagine what you don't hear from me."

She noted as well that her mother was behaving weirdly. "Honestly idk why my own mother is acting the way she is," she wrote on her X (formerly known as Twitter) account. Evans then explained that Barbara was "using police to falsely report" Eason to make their family "look bad." She added, "There are multiple people involved in this situation, and they know the truth, and so does God." However, the police are still investigating the matter and are yet to comment.
