The ballroom is not stopping Mauricio Umansky from winning back his estranged wife, Kyle Richards.
The entrepreneur is determined to salvage his marriage with the reality television star and is juggling that effort with his commitment to competing on this season of "Dancing With the Stars." Umansky claimed that even though they are "officially separated," they were still holding on to their relationship.
Mauricio Umansky Not Ready To Give Up On Marriage With Kyle Richard
During Tuesday's episode of "DWTS," Umansky gave his all on the dance floor alongside his professional partner, Emma Slater. While a mistake in their performance resulted in them receiving the lowest scores of the night, the pair narrowly escaped elimination.
Speaking on the occurrence after actress and singer Jamie Lynn Spears and her pro partner Alan Bersten got booted off, The Agency founder stated, "It feels amazing to be safe. I feel blessed, I feel lucky. I thank my fans."
Since this year's season of the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" will predominantly highlight the relationship drama between him and Richards, according to a recent trailer released, Umansky touched on it as well. As he told ET:
"You're gonna see our relationship kind of leading into the difficult parts of the relationship, there's no question about all that. But it's gonna be a really fun, entertaining season for people who like to watch drama — there's gonna be a lot of drama, that's for sure."
Following the confusing state of their romance, the "Buying Beverly Hills" star clarified, "The reality is... we are officially separated, but we're not throwing in the towel." He stated that they're "fighting for this," adding:
"We've been married for 27 years, 26 amazing years. Kyle is my best friend, she's an amazing human, I love her... And marriages go through difficult times, sometimes, and that's what we're dealing with right now."
Additionally, Umansky had something to say to "RHOBH" fans and others who are emotionally invested in his and Richards' relationship. To them, he said, "We'll let our fans know when we know what our life is gonna be like, but in the meantime, we're fighting [for our marriage]."
The 53-year-old also shared that despite the challenges of the split, there have been some positives to the situation. He explained:
"There's a lot of pieces of this thing that have actually made the family a little closer... There is a silver lining. My daughters are actually very pleased that we're having a lot more real, open conversations with the family. They are appreciative of that."
Umansky and Richards share three daughters — Alexia, Sophia, and Portia — as well as Richards' 34-year-old daughter Farrah Brittany, from her first marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.
The 'Dealmaker' Author's Wife Campaigned For Him To Get Votes On 'DWTS'
Shortly before the "DWTS" star opened up about his hope regarding his union, The Blast had reported that his estranged wife had solicited votes on behalf of him and his dance partner. For the plea, Richards had uploaded a pic of Umansky posing next to Slater, with the former sporting a black and gray sports coat, a black shirt, and matching pants.
The post quickly accrued thousands of likes and several comments, which included expressions of confusion from fans. While one person pointed out that Umansky had no ring on his wedding finger, another bluntly commented:
"So confused by this. Why did they put out that they separated if they aren't divorcing. Giving strangers way too much info about private things🤔."
"Y'all are so confusing 🙃," a third cybernaut asserted, a fourth praised Richards writing, "So glad you're supporting him … i hope you guys work everything out." A fifth loudly wondered if the public show of support was for "damage control."
Richards and Umansky released a joint statement on their decision to separate in July following rumors of tension in their marriage. In the note, shared via Instagram, the former lovebirds denied that any "wrongdoing" led to the collapse of their marriage. The statement expressed:
"In regards to the news that came out about us today…any claims regarding divorcing are untrue. However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone's part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative."
