Joshua Jackson Reportedly Wants To Reconcile With Jodie Turner-Smith Amid Divorce

Actor Joshua Jackson is reportedly looking to get back together with his estranged wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, even though she filed for divorce on Monday, September 2.

In court documents obtained by The Blast, the "White Noise" actress, who shares a 3-year-old daughter with the "Dawson's Creek" alum, stated that September 13 was the date of separation, but waited until early October to file.

The couple reportedly met at his birthday party in 2018 and hit it off right away. They got engaged a few months later, tied the knot in 2019, and welcomed their first child in April 2020. It is not clear exactly what caused the split after nearly four years together, but Jodie Turner-Smith cited the standard “irreconcilable differences” according to court documents obtained by The Blast.

On Tuesday, sources told the Daily Mail that the “Fringe” actor was “heartbroken” by the divorce and “isn’t thrilled” about the possibility of ending their marriage. Another insider revealed that there was no infidelity involved in the end of the marriage and stated that it had simply “run its course.”

“Joshua is heartbroken over the impending divorce, he always thought that he would be married and grow old with his family, and everything would be happily ever after,” one insider said. “He had the dream scenario in his mind, and Jodie was his person and the person he thought he would be with forever.”

The Canadian actor is now reportedly focused on co-parenting their young child amid the split, as per the outlet. “He never wanted this for their daughter,” the insider continued. “They both are great parents and will continue to be, he just hates that they won't be together as a couple for their daughter anymore. They will always be connected through her.”

The source said that Joshua is hoping that they will be able to make amends and repair the marriage, adding, “He would have loved nothing more than to still be with Jodie and in a perfect world would probably even take her back if she were to stop the divorce, but now that they have got to this place, he is going to have to accept it.”

They went on to say that “Nothing horrible happened between the two like infidelity, the relationship just went its course, and it is just a sad time,” adding, “Joshua isn't thrilled about it, but as we all know, life doesn't always work out the way you'd like it to work out.”

In September 2022, the former couple sparked rumors of trouble in their relationship when fans noticed that they had unfollowed each other on social media. However, they later followed each other again, and Jackson had nothing but positive things to say about the actress in an interview with E! News.

“She is undeniably one of the most beautiful women on the planet,” he said at the time. “And she always smashes it when she’s on the red carpet. That is truly a wonder to behold.”

“But I will tell you, that there is nothing like waking up in the morning, opening my eyes, and seeing her face in the morning,” he added.

In 2021, Jodie Turner-Smith had joked about the quick to their relationship during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. ”When I first met my husband, we had a one-night stand,” she said at the time. “We're in a two, three-year one-night stand now.”

She went on to recall how they first met at his birthday party. “First of all, I saw him before he saw me and when I saw him, I was like, ‘I want that,’” she recalled. “And then when he saw me, I just pretended like I didn't see him.”

She said that he eventually came over and did his “cute and charming thing,” adding, “All night he followed me around the party. He felt the energy. He felt it.”
