John Kelly has criticized his former boss, Donald Trump, for disparaging remarks he claims the latter made about service members and veterans.

The former White House Chief of Staff's statement is the confirmation needed concerning allegations that Trump had referred to fallen soldiers as "suckers" and "losers" during his presidency. It's important to note that the accusations, which caused significant controversy and discussions in the media and among the public, were initially disputed or defended by several people.

John Kelly Holds Nothing Back As He Reprimands Donald Trump For His Old Derogatory Comments

As Trump's legal woes continue, Kelly has added an extra nail to his coffin, confirming the age-long suspicions about the former President's true feelings toward veterans. In a statement issued on Monday, the 73-year-old wrote:

"A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform, or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat, or spend years being tortured as POWs are all 'suckers' because 'there is nothing in it for them.' A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because 'it doesn't look good for me.'"

"A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family — for all Gold Star families — on TV during the 2016 campaign, and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America's defense are 'losers' and wouldn't visit their graves in France," he continued.

Per a 2020 report by The Atlantic, Trump’s belittling remarks about U.S. service members and veterans had included Senator John McCain and former President George H.W. Bush. It also alleged that Trump referred to Marines who died at Belleau Wood as "suckers" and called fallen soldiers at Aisne-Marne American Cemetery "losers."

Kelly's criticism of the politician extended beyond these reported comments as he slammed his former boss for what he perceives as dishonesty on various issues. One such problem was his position on topics like abortion, women's rights, minorities, evangelical Christians, Jews, and working individuals.

Going further, the retired U.S. Marine Corps general recalled Trump's recent statements about Army General Mark Milley, who just retired as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. As he pointed out, as detailed by NBC News:

"A person who cavalierly suggests that a selfless warrior who has served his country for 40 years in peacetime and war should lose his life for treason — in expectation that someone will take action."

The former political advisor then described the media personality as an admirer of "autocrats and murderous dictators," and a person whose only feeling for "our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law" is "contempt." Finishing his passionate statement, Kelly affirmed, "There is nothing more that can be said. God help us."

Over a month before this latest controversy, Trump had been the brunt of the joke on X, after he declared an unbelievable height and weight to authorities. As The Blast shared in August, shortly after turning himself in, news that the 77-year-old had claimed to weigh 215 lbs, with a height of 6 '3 surfaced online.

Immediately, trolls began taking a crack at the businessman, with one person uploading an image of actor and hunk Jason Momoa, along with the caption, "215lbs. Sure, liar, @realDonaldTrump, AKA P01135809. Jason Momoa is 214Ibs. #morningjoe."

A second critic pondered, "Does @realDonaldTrump really believe all the bullshit that comes out of his mouth, or is he just trying to get us to drink the Kool-Aid? That includes his weight declaration of 215lbs. Which half of his obese body is that? #TrumpArrest #TrumpMugShot."

"215 pounds??!!!! 6'3? He would be slim if this was true? Lies, lies, lies," a third person emphasized, while a fourth added, "Apparently he's describing himself as 6°3 and 215lbs which is the same height and weight as Ali in this photo," alongside a picture of the late legendary boxer Muhammad Ali in his prime.

One X user went as far as taking a dig at Trump fans, writing, "Very fitting that the same people who believe Trump is 6°3″ and #215lbs also believe he won the election…."

The comic relief came before Trump began attending court for his ongoing civil fraud trial.
