Sophie Turner: Joe Jonas Is A 'Hardcore Feminist,' Video Goes Viral

The plot thickens in Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas's divorce as a resurfaced clip reveals the actress's thoughts about her estranged husband are far from the current narrative, he is a control freak.

The English sensation's recent damning claims about her former beau amid their tumultuous separation have got the Jonas Brothers member suffering severe backlash.

Fans believe the singer is being"controlling" and "sexist," labels that differed from his soon-to-be ex-wife's previous thoughts about his personality.

A snippet from the "Game Of Thrones" star's candid interview with Elle Magazine recently went viral as it captured a head-over-heels Turner gushing about her partner's "feminist" side. The video shared by a Jonas fangirl on X, formerly called Twitter, was meant to absolve the artist from the ongoing internet hate.

"For those trying to hate on and blame @joejonas for the divorce, please listen to what Sophie Says here!" The account owner captioned the post. In the brief footage, the Northampton beauty raved about what fans might find intriguing about her then-lover.

"I have to say I think they would be very happy and pleased to learn that he is an avid feminist and like a very hardcore feminist, and I really appreciate that about him," the 27-year-old confessed, noting that he frequently stopped her from having negative misogynistic thoughts.

"Sometimes he checks me on certain things like the internalized misogyny. He'll be like, 'No, no, no, no, no, get that out your head.' So that's quite a nice thing," the mother of two chimed with a bright smile.

Turner reaffirmed that fans would be pleased to find out about the different wonderful aspects of Jonas, stressing that behind his "charismatic" and "manly" stage persona was a "very sensitive and sweet" individual.

Judging by Turner's ongoing battle to free her daughters from Jonas's alleged hold on them, her thoughts about the Disney alum have obviously changed. It is possible she no longer sees him as a "feminist" and many of her fans seem to share that opinion.

Many attacked the "Camp Rock" actor for being a terrible person and trying to control his "Game of Thrones" wife. "I feel like he doesn't even want the kids. It's just about having power," one wrote.

One social media user advised women to learn from Turner's mistakes, writing: "Ladies, always keep your kids' passports when traveling out of the country. Even if they're not traveling with you." The father keeping the children (and the mother) hostage because he holds the passports is very common during separation/divorce.

Another echoed similar sentiments about Jonas, daring his fans to support his awful actions, "Publicly bashes his wife, withholds his children's passports so they can't go home to their mother AND has her find out abt a divorce through the media. Now, where are all the Joe Jonas fangirls who relentlessly defended him like he's the embodiment of the second coming of Christ."

The slam fest continued with a fourth X user noting the "Truthfully" singer had a history of hurting women. "Joe Jonas broke up with Taylor Swift in an infamous 27-second phone call. Sophie Turner found out Joe Jonas was divorcing her by reading about it online. Maybe the problem is Joe Jonas," the fan declared.

Another declared, "I knew it. Joe Jonas waited to file until she was out of the US without the kids to maintain control."

Fans' rage against the "American Idol" guest judge stemmed from his estranged wife's claims about him withholding their children's passports in her recent lawsuit against him. According to court documents, the Northampton native implored the court to order the release of her daughters.

In her filing, the 27-year-old alleged that Jonas began the "wrongful retention" of their kids "on or about" September 20. The "Dark Phoenix" star claimed her former lover refused to return their daughters' passports to her and prevented their return to England.

The TV personality stressed that the exes had allegedly planned for the children to return to her home country with her in the week of September 17. However, he refused to allow them. Turner's attorney explained the situation using the Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.

"Objectives of the Convention are to secure the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained in any Contracting State, and to ensure that ‘rights to custody’ under the law of one Contracting State are effectively respected in other Contracting States," the lawyers stressed in the legal documents.

The Jonas Brothers member fired back almost immediately, slamming Turner's use of the word "abduction" as "misleading."

His statement read, "This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like “abduction” is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst. The children were not abducted. After being in Joe’s care for the past three months at the agreement of both parties, the children are currently with their mother. Sophie is making this claim only to move the divorce proceedings to the UK and to remove the children from the U.S. permanently."

The divorce is ongoing.
