Renowned Zoologist Adam Britton Exposed For His Obsession With Raping And Killing Dogs

Once-respected academic and zoologist Adam Britton shocked the world by admitting to raping and killing dogs. He reportedly pled guilty to 37 counts of animal cruelty, ten counts of dog rape or attempted rape, and four counts related to child abuse materials.

Britton confessed to sexually abusing at least 39 dogs and referred to them as "f--- toys." He kept his horrific acts secret until his arrest. His wife, Erin, a biologist and wildlife ranger, appears to have not known his crimes.

Britton documented his abuse on Telegram, leading to a raid that uncovered 15 child abuse material files. Chief Justice Michael Grant described the acts as "grotesque cruelty."

Adam Robert Corden Britton, who once had a respected reputation as an academic and zoologist, has been exposed for having a troubling obsession with raping and torturing pet dogs.

According to a report, Britton, 52, confessed in court and pleaded guilty to 37 counts of animal cruelty, ten counts of raping dogs or attempting to do so, and four counts related to owing and distributing child abuse materials.

His admission included sexually assaulting at least 39 dogs, which he derogatorily called "f--- toys." He documented these acts of abuse with puppies at his expansive McMinns Lagoon property and shared his interests online using aliases.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Britton had subjected his Swiss Shepherd pets, Ursa and Bolt, to sexual abuse for nearly a decade. Eventually, he turned to Gumtree to acquire more dogs for his horrifying acts.

Surprisingly, Britton managed to conceal his disturbing inclinations, even from his wife, until his arrest. He discussed his inner urges in a message shared with a stranger on Telegram: "I had repressed it. I let it out again in the last few years, and now I can't stop. I don't want to."

Before his arrest, Britton gained international recognition for his crocodile conservation efforts alongside his wife and business partner, Erin, and held a respected position as a researcher at Charles Darwin University.

Approximately six months before his arrest in April 2022, the couple were featured in interviews about their crocodile research on ABC News and Triple J's Hack news program.

It's important to note that there is no indication whatsoever that Erin, a biologist and wildlife ranger renowned for her work on sea turtles and crocodile studies, knew of her husband's criminal activities or disturbing obsessions.

In light of the allegations against Britton, she has dropped his surname. She is involved in international wildlife expeditions, without mentioning her former husband and business partner in her National Geographic bio.

Prosecutors revealed in court that Britton maintained a Telegram account to connect with "like-minded individuals" and another for distributing explicit images and recordings of the abuse.

Prosecutor Marty Aust stated, "Using these applications, the offender discussed his 'kill count." Britton's account contained 114 threads in which he detailed how he acquired these pets and the extent of his abuse.

Britton acquired additional dogs from Gumtree, often from unsuspecting owners in the Darwin area. He would build rapport with these owners, negotiating custody of their pets. Many owners reluctantly parted with their dogs due to travel or work commitments, unaware of the horrific fate that awaited them.

In the past year, authorities raided Britton's residence, confiscating 44 items, including computers, mobile phones, cameras, external hard drives, tools, and weapons. Among the disturbing discoveries was a laptop containing 15 files of child abuse material.

During his court appearance on Monday, Britton pleaded guilty to all charges, prompting Chief Justice Michael Grant to warn those in the courtroom.

He cautioned that the details of the offenses were characterized by "grotesque cruelty," describing them as profoundly troubling and capable of causing "nervous shock or some other adverse psychological reaction to a person exposed to those details."

Britton was charged last year, and the courts initially kept his identity confidential to prevent media influence on a potential jury. However, this suppression order was lifted following his guilty plea on Monday.
