Drew Barrymore is learning the virtue of patience the hard way!

A week after the beloved actress stopped the production of her eponymous talk show to support the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, after facing a lot of backlash, the Writers Guild of America suspended their picketing.

The protest finally reached a positive turn after the WGA negotiating committee scored a great deal for its members. However, the WGA negotiations came as a double slap to the "Charlie's Angels" star, whose image took a brutal beating these past weeks.

Fans are now calling the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree for being hasty, noting she could have avoided the drama if she simply supported the strike

When the actress announced that "The Drew Barrymore Show" would return to shooting new episodes amid the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, the 48-year-old never expected the internet's wrath. However, a resolution arrived a week after the mother of two stopped filming.

The suspension of the WGA picketing came like a cruel joke to Barrymore's situation, and netizens did not spare the entertainer by rubbing her mistake in her face. After announcing the fantastic outcome of the WGA negotiations, fans bashed the TV personality's impatience on the X platform.

"Drew Barrymore ruined her good name just for them to reach an agreement days later," someone noted, with another, speculating she had influenced the end of the strike.

"Drew Barrymore just needed to wait a week," a third lamented. At the same time, a fourth fan clarified, "Drew Barrymore probably just realizing she could’ve just waited two weeks."

Another conspiracy theorist claimed stars like Barrymore and the comedian Bill Maher believed others would skip the strike and return to work as they did. The commentator's message read:

"I have to believe that the Drew Barrymore and Bill Maher things were somewhat of a trial balloon for the studios. I’m sure they were hoping people would ‘quietly return to work,’ and holy s--- did it not go that way for them."

More netizens suspected the end of the WGA picketing was influenced by the "Blended" actress's actions. "Drew Barrymore might have accidentally ended the Writer’s Strike because I think when the studios realized they couldn’t even get her show back on the air without a backlash, they didn’t really have any options," another theorist shared.

Despite the unfounded claims about Barrymore's impact on the strike, many found the situation pitiful. Stressing the importance of patience, fans pointed out the Culver City native must have learned a valuable lesson from the drama.

"Let what Drew Barrymore just did be a lesson in patience," an X user advised, while another person quipped, "Lmao at Drew Barrymore going through all of that so close to a deal being struck."

"The strike is over? So, you’re telling me, Had Drew Barrymore and Bill Maher just shut up for one more week, they both could’ve saved themselves a lot of headache?!" Someone else lamented.

As stated, a truce was called between the WGA and AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) after negotiations resulted in the suspension of the picketing.

On Sunday, September 24, the WGA and the AMPTP agreed on a three-year contract to end the ongoing writers' strike. The resolution came 146 days after WGA members had stopped working.

“I have listened to everyone, and I am making the decision to pause the show’s premiere until the strike is over. I have no words to express my deepest apologies to anyone I have hurt and, of course, to our incredible team who works on the show and has made it what it is today,” the mother of two's message read.
