In 2022, the San Francisco 49ers established itself as a formidable home team, and it seems that their strong home performance has persisted into 2023.

The team delivered an impressive performance in the NFL on Thursday night, defeating the New York Giants with a score of 30-12 in their home opener, advancing to a 3-0 record for the year.

This marks the first time since 2019 that San Francisco has kicked off a season with three consecutive victories in the opening three weeks, and fans are absolutely delighted by it!

Fans Applaud The Niners For Their 'Unstoppable' Game Against The Giants

Despite the violent brawl that broke out during the game, nothing could stop the 49ers from taking their victory over the Giants in the recent playoff. The massive win was celebrated by San Francisco fans, who flooded X with their excitement.

Gushing about the team, one fan wrote, "It's amazing just how good the 49ers are, and just how well Brock Purdy is playing (statistically). Purdy can and will improve so much. And when he does I think it's lights out for the rest of the @NFL."

A second person typed, "The @49ers looking unstoppable so far. Those 10/1 pre season odds are looking very nice! Vegas hotel booked for the Super Bowl…Let's go!!" and a third claimed that Giants "f**ked around and found out."

Alongside a video highlighting the moment quarterback Purdy threw the ball to wide receiver Deebo Samuel, this netizen observed, "Fantastic blitz pick up followed by a back shoulder dot from Brock Purdy. All around perfect football from the 49ers."

"49ers offense kinda scares me ngl💀," a fourth person noted, and a fifth confidently asserted, "49ers the best team in football. Let cowboys come get they a** beat week 5." Even David Lombardi, a staff writer for The Atlantic for 49ers, joined in the conversation, effusing:

"Giants blitzed 49ers on 33 of 39 drop backs — 85% (!!!) Brock Purdy vs the blitz: 20-31, 247 yards, 2 TD. This was a masterclass."

He then followed up with an analysis, which read, "The 49ers dominated a team they should've dominated. Predicted they'd win by 18, they won by 18. Great teams hold serve against worse competition. Next opportunity for SF is against an inferior Arizona team. Then Dallas looms."

"Just watched the 49ers highlights, does Deebo go and pull tractors for off season training or something cause the Man is strong!" another sports enthusiast exclaimed, as a ninth applauded, "Dominant performance.  So many talented players in this team.  Almost not fair."

Yet another NFL fan shared, "The only 3-0 team is the San Francisco 49ers so just remember that," and this cybercitizen pointed out, "The 49ers magic number is 30 I see."

Deebo Samuel Stepped Up To Fill The Void Left By Brandon Aiyuk's Absence

For the game itself, ESPN recorded that the 49ers had to work hard for their victory amid a short week and the absence of injured receiver Brandon Aiyuk due to a shoulder injury. While the Giants were short-handed during their second West Coast game, the 49ers have no reason to apologize for another win, which is happening for the second time in almost two decades.

Despite that, this win emphasized Aiyuk's importance to the Niners as the Giants, known for their blitz-heavy approach since early 2022, continued to send extra rushers relentlessly at Purdy. These blitzes proved effective in the first half, creating pressure on the quarterback and leading to inaccurate passes.

The blitzes also forced the Niners coach, Kyle Shanahan, to shift towards screens and quick passes instead of his usual intermediate routes. Aiyuk's absence was acutely felt in situations like these.

The 25-year-old has been a standout with 50 catches — tied for 8th in the National Football League — for 679 yards — tied for 9th — against man coverage since the start of last season. When it comes to consistently and swiftly beating man coverage, no one on the team matches his performance.

Nonetheless, fellow wide receiver Samuel — with six catches for 129 yards and a touchdown, and tight end George Kittle — contributing seven receptions for 90 yards — stepped up admirably to fill the void in the second half. Additionally, the Niners' defense asserted its dominance, resulting in a commanding performance against the Giants.
