Ever since, Jason Tartick is admitting he is suffering "emotional swings" and "tidal waves of depression", something that Michael Allio, who just split from Danielle Maltby, can relate to.

Jason Tartick and Michael Allio chatted on the "Trading Secrets" podcast, and seemingly bonded over their mutual heartbreaks.

"Everything eventually goes away -- the good times but also the bad times. Be easy on yourself and respect them, appreciate them and absorb them for what they offer you in the moment," Allio explained to Tartick. "Give me the joy and give me the pain, because all of that is better than that feeling of, say, being numb when you're walking around like a zombie and you feel nothing. I'd rather be in excruciating pain than just be numb."

To which Tartick replied with, "That's so true... You're so right."

"It's a weird predicament. I've even told you -- and other friends and stuff -- that this breakup, which is a baby-little drop in the ocean compared to what you've gone through, but I've cried more in the last month or two than I have in my life altogether," he continued.

"But there is something true to feeling that emotion; it makes you feel connected and it makes you feel alive," he added. "It makes you feel, like, 'Okay, I know where I'm at, I'm feeling myself, I'm connecting myself, and I'm moving on.'

Tartick also told Allio that he "has been in those situations" where a person is in a "numb" state of mind and being.

"Those numb states, it's like, there's nothing worse than just not knowing or not understanding yourself," he explained. "If you don't understand yourself, the confusion that comes from that... makes moving on and your next chapters -- whether it's personal, professional, financial, or whatever it is -- really hard chapters to put together."

The former “Bachelorette” contestant also opened up about his split with Bristowe in late August. “Kaitlyn [Bristowe] has been in L.A. working this week so I’ve been lucky enough to have the boys with me and it has been just a true blessing,” referring to their dogs Ramen and Pinot.

He continued, “I just think through this time and it’s like, honestly, we talk a lot about careers and money here, and that is a huge foundation to our life, but it just comes down to relationships, friendships and those who are around you. And even though Ramen and Pinot are animals and pets, they’re best friends to me, and just having them with me has been amazing. Having a great support system [in the] last month to few months has been everything to me. I’ve leaned on them harder than I’ve ever in my life — ever — leaned on my support system.”

Throughout this difficult time in his life, Tartick is continuing therapy as he has been trying to cope with the different feelings, including both “tidal waves of depression” and “times where, like, you feel lifted and you feel good again”.

“And it’s just this back-and-forth flood of emotions. And what I’m learning is that, you know, grieving is just the whole process of honoring, respecting and having love for what was, but then also at the same time, with the same level, and if not more, honoring, respecting and having love for what is,” Tartick added.
