Sam Asghari Shares Sweaty Gym Selfie Amid Britney Spears Divorce

Actor Sam Asgharihas returned to Instagram and is starting to develop a regular social media presence, posting to his Instagram Stories more frequently than he has in the past.

The 29-year-old actor has been keeping a low profile ever since he filed for divorce from the Princess of Pop, Britney Spears, 41.  Although he filed for divorce on August 16 citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, according to court documents obtained by The Blast, he listed the actual date of separation as July 28.

Late Monday night, the “Special Ops: Lioness” actor snapped a selfie that featured him standing in the gym in front of a mirror wearing a green tank top and black shorts. He has a towel draped around his neck and earbuds in his ear as he looks down at his phone screen and snaps a quick selfie to keep himself accountable for his gym routine.

In this photo, which he uploaded to his Instagram Stories, he has one hand clenched around the towel around his neck to flex his biceps, showing that he is trying to stay in shape amid the divorce. In the lower right-hand corner of the photo, he wrote, “First one of the day” along with a check mark emoji.

Only two days ago, the Iranian actor took to Instagram to share a video that featured him working hard in the gym. He is slamming a medicine ball on the ground, doing pull-ups, and, at the end of the video, flexing his muscles to show off how fit he really is. In the caption, he simply wrote "Focused" along with a flex emoji. Unlike Britney, Sam does allow comments on his Instagram posts and decided not to moderate what was said on this post.

Although a few Britney fans accused the actor of "using" her and then leaving, other followers came to the actor's defense and told him that he could do better than the pop star. "Do your best. We support you, Sam," one fan commented. "Let's not attack him anymore. No one knows what's going on behind closed doors. Britney was my idol but she really needs help. Who keeps changing outfits and putting fingers on her hips daily say this age?" another follower asked.

"Britney is her own train wreck… she needs freaking major help. Everyone thinks they are after her money… well when will she be blamed for what she’s done to herself, her kids, and her family…. She’s a freaking adult now and has been for a long time…. SHE HAS TO OWN UP TO HER ISSUES AND FAULTS. Can’t keep blaming everyone for everything wrong in your life…. Grow up, Britney! quit blaming and using people for where you are NOW! Dance into some mental health facility and get help girl…. Congratulations Sam on your new lease of peace and happiness," a third fan commented.

“I have loved Brittney since the beginning but she is so mentally ill. It makes me sick to my stomach to see how sick she is. She needs SERIOUS help. It’s sad to see so many people bash Sam when everyone can clearly see how bad she is,” another user wrote, while another follower ventured that “nobody could handle” the videos that Britney posts on social media.

"This man has been her sole support during this conservatorship. I imagine he thought she might get a job or do something with herself after it ended. He went on to try to get himself work which he did, while his wife just went out and bought a new pair of white boots and a stripper pole and showed her body that the whole world every day without any class," another user commented.

"If any of you are married would your husband be okay with letting the world watch you strip all day and degrade yourself and your marriage?" they continued. "I would have left her a** too. I wouldn't have stuck around as long as he did. I hope he has a wonderful life I think he has a great career ahead of him." Many fans expressed their agreement while others said that they hoped that Britney gets the support she needs.
