"Power" star Michael Rainey Jr. has landed himself a sweet raise for the hit show, negotiating a deal to pay him more than double what he had been making.
Rainey Jr. plays Tariq St. Patrick — the son of Omari Hardwick's character Ghost — on the show. The fifth season of the 50 Cent-produced show premieres on July 1.
According to docs obtained by The Blast, the 17-year-old actor was pulling in $20,000 an episode for the first season. His original deal provided for an increase of 4% annually for the following seasons.
Earlier this year, producers agreed to give Rainey Jr. a huge raise for future seasons. The new deal will pay him $45,000 an episode moving forward, an increase of $25k per episode, with a guaranteed seven episodes person.
A little math tells us that's $315,000 a season.
Ghost would be proud.
