English Professional soccer star Andre Gray has been accused of striking, only it wasn't on a pitch at the World Cup, it was at a club in Las Vegas where he allegedly battered a woman.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Gray, who plays in the Premier League for Club Watford, was issued a citation for battery after allegedly pulling a woman's hair and punching her in the face on May 26.

We're told Gray and another man named Nathan Jones were partying at Drai's Nightclub around 3:00 AM when the footballer got into an argument with the woman. She told police Gray pulled her by the hair and punched her in the face before Jones allegedly lobbed a drink at her, which struck her in the arm.

It's unclear what started the argument, but sources tell us Gray knew the girl and had been spending time with her while in Vegas.

Cops were called out, but because they did not witness the incident were only able to cite both men for battery and release them at the scene. The situation is currently under investigation and they have court dates scheduled for next month.

Meanwhile, we're told the woman has hired an attorney and is working with authorities on the potential prosecution of Gray.
