Despite coming to a three-year, $112.5 million deal that includes $75 million in fully guaranteed money for 2023 and 2024, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers only played four snaps before going down on the field due to a ruptured Achilles.

Quarterback Zach Wilson finished the game on Monday night and is the new starting quarterback now that Rodgers is out for the season. Many fans believe that the Jets season is over now that Rodgers is hurt, but head coach Robert Saleh says otherwise.

Last week, the New York Jets forced the game to go into overtime against the Buffalo Bills, with the Jets coming out on top thanks to Xavier Gipson's game-winning touchdown.

The Cowboys crushed the New York Giants, winning 40-0.

The Jets are getting ready to take on the Cowboys in Week 2. Jets' head coach Robert Saleh believes that" no matter who the quarterback is, a team needs three elements to win on the road: a strong ground game, a tough defense, and sound special teams. The Jets believe they can check all those boxes going into Dallas today to play the Cowboys," according to Adam Schefter.

Saleh has been open about his thoughts on the team this past week, even telling fans to stop "putting an obituary" on the team's name. "I don't know why people are trying to put an obituary onto our team name," Saleh said. "Aaron is an unbelievable piece to this whole thing, and we love him, but I think there are 52 other guys in the locker room, plus the 16-practice squad guys who believe that we can do many good things here. We've got a championship-caliber defense. We've got great-skill guys on the offensive side of the ball. Our offensive line is continuing to gel and get better."

He continued, "We're excited about our group. We've worked hard over the last couple of years with players, coaches, scouts, and G.M., building a pretty cool organization, so there's a lot of faith in the locker room on what we can still accomplish this year. While the outside world can go ahead and write whatever story they want, there's still the true story being written in this building."

Zach Wilson and the New York Jets will take on Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys at 4:25 p.m. EST today.

Following the surgery, quarterback Aaron Rodgers hinted that he plans to return to the game as soon as possible.

"There's a lot of different ideas about the overall length of the rehab. I think I'd like to say that just because nobody's ever done it in a certain way doesn't mean it's not possible," Rodgers said. "I have some odds stacked against me based on age, but I like it. Stack all the odds up against me and see what happens. My entire focus and dedication are about acquiring the most information and adding to what I've already put together as a pretty damn good rehab plan that will shock some people."
