Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love Texted Jets' QB Aaron Rodgers Following Achilles Injury

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love, who played a season alongside Aaron Rodgers before Rodgers signed with the New York Jets, reached out to his former teammate following his devastating injury on Monday Night Football.

Just four snaps into the game, all-star quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down on the field, holding the back of his leg and around his ankle. After being helped off the field, Rodgers was then seen being carted off while in a boot, leaving NFL fans everywhere in complete shock.

An MRI confirmed that Rodgers suffered from a torn Achilles Tuesday morning.

Prior to his MRI, former teammate Jordan Love texted Rodgers, letting him know he was keeping him in his thoughts. "I can't speak for him, but I know him," Love said in a press conference on the Jets quarterback. "He's a very competitive person, and I have no doubt he'll be back. He'll kill it in recovery and be back."

Rodgers seemingly hinted that he would be back for the 2024 season in his statement on social media.

“Thank you to every person that has reached out, called, texted, DM’d connected through a friend, etc. It has meant a ton to me, and I’ll try and get back to all of you soon ?❤️,” Rodgers posted on Instagram. “I’m completely heartbroken and moving through all of the emotions, but deeply touched and humbled by the support and love. ? Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I begin the healing process today. ? ♾️ ❤️”.

The quarterback then wrote a quote. “The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again,” he said before concluding with, “Proud of my guys, 1-0 ?️ #.”

In August 2023, future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets came to a three-year, $112.5 million deal that includes $75 million in fully guaranteed money for 2023 and 2024. Unfortunately, Rodgers’ season with the Jets has already come to an end early as he suffered a ruptured Achilles just four plays into his Jets season debut.

Hours after the devastating news broke, fans immediately thought the New York Jets season was done — but the head coach says otherwise.

“I don’t know why people are trying to put an obituary onto our team name,” Saleh said via a YouTube live. “Aaron is an unbelievable piece to this whole thing, and we love him, but I think there’s 52 other guys in the locker room, plus the 16-practice squad guys who believe that we can do a hell of a lot of good things here.”

He continued, “We’ve got a championship-caliber defense. We’ve got great skill guys on the offensive side of the ball. Our offensive line is continuing to gel and get better. We’re excited about our group. We’ve worked hard over the last couple of years with players, coaches, scouts, G.M., building a pretty cool organization, so there’s a lot of faith in the locker room on the things that we can still accomplish this year. While the outside world can go ahead and write whatever story they want to write, there’s still the true story being written in this building.”
