Actress Salma Hayek is giving credit to meditation, not exercise, for achieving her flawless physique.
The 57-year-old model has previously praised the power of meditation, but she revealed that it not only helps her mind but her waistline as well!
Salma Hayek Credits Meditation For Keeping Her Fit Figure At Age 57!
The "House of Gucci" actress is crediting meditation, not exercising, for maintaining her ageless appearance. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said that "meditation" was the key to the fountain of youth.
"I really believe it is. People say it's exercising. I think it's meditation," she shared. "You have to find your way. For me, exercising is hard... It's really, really difficult to have the discipline to do it. But meditation is a walk in the park because it's my own form of it."
"You sit in a moment with yourself, that's already meditation," she added. "But I do it every day."
Salma Hayek Does Not Use Injectables... But She Does Tone Up In Non-Invasive Ways
In July, the “Black Mirror” actress appeared on Kelly Ripa’s podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera” to shut down rumors that she uses Botox to keep up her appearance.
“No Botox,” she told Ripa, explaining that she practices a form of meditation where she can feel the energy “dancing” through her body. Although she admitted that it sounded "strange" she admitted that it works for her.
She went on to clarify that while she does not use injectables, she has used machines that help firm and tighten her skin without being invasive. “I do a lot of the frequency machines and they work on me better than on anyone,” she explained. “And just the meditation … sometimes when I’m doing it, people tell me when I come out of the room, ‘Oh my God, you look 20 years old.’”
She went on to say that she gets better results from radiofrequency and micro frequency machines than other people, adding, “The people that do the machines say that the results I get, they don’t get with other people.”
She went on to explain that her meditation practice is not just good for her waistline, but her overall health. “When I don’t [meditate] for some time, guess what? Not only [does] the face starts to drop and everything starts to drop, [but also] my herniated disc, the problem in my neck, the problem in my hip, my ankles [comes back]. I start breaking down,” she said.
This is not the first time that the "Magic Mike's Last Dance" actress has shut down rumors that she uses Botox. In 2017, she told DuJour that she doesn’t “believe” in using Botox “because your face doesn’t move, and it’s something you have to do for the rest of your life, more and more every time.”
Salma Shares Her One Ingredient Beauty Secret!
In a February 2023 interview with Glamour, Salma also admitted that she doesn't mind getting older. "I thought getting older meant I wasn't going to work; I'm working. I thought getting older maybe meant that you're not in love anymore; I'm in love," she said at the time.
She also explained that she has a beauty secret that is hard to find in the United States. "I use an ingredient called Tepezcohuite that's used in Mexico for burn victims because it completely regenerates the skin, and there's no one in the States who is using this ingredient except for us," she revealed.
"Some of the ingredients, when I took them to the American labs, they were like 'Oh my god! How come nobody is using this?'" she recalled. "This is why I have no Botox, no peels, no fillings."
Salma Has A Lot Of Love In Her Life!
Fortunately, in addition to her good looks, she also has a lot of love in her life. She has a daughter, Valentina Pinault, 15, and has been married to her husband, François-Henri Pinault, since 2009.
Pinault is the chairman and CEO of the luxury corporation Kering, which owns fashion brands such as Balenciaga, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Puma and Yves Saint Laurent, many others.
The "From Dusk Till Dawn" actress is also the stepmother to his three children from previous relationships: son François and daughter Mathilde, from his previous marriage to Dorothée Lepère, and son Augustin James Evangelista, from his relationship with the supermodel Linda Evangelista.
