Las Vegas police are shooting down a report that they are about to arrest someone for the murder of Tupac Shakur.

KTNV in Las Vegas reported today that an arrest was "imminent," citing a source. The renewed activity in the case comes from a confession in a new Netflix documentary from a former gang member who claims to know the identity of the shooter, but will not reveal it due to "street code."

But a reporter with FOX5 in Vegas says the police released a statement saying, "Various reports that an arrest warrant is about to be submitted are inaccurate. This case still remains an open homicide case."

Shakur was the victim of a drive-by shooting on September 7, 1996 in Las Vegas. He died in a local hospital six days later.
