Britney Spears Fans Slam Jamie Lynn Spears' 'Dancing With The Stars' Casting

On Tuesday, September 12, ABC announced that Jamie Lynn Spears, the little sister of pop star Britney Spears, would be joining season 32 of "Dancing With The Stars" ahead of the full cast announcement on Wednesday, September 13.
Unfortunately, fans were not too happy to hear that the "Zoey 101" star was joining the program and made it clear that they do not want to see Jamie dancing to Britney's music.
Britney Spears Fans Do NOT Want To See Jamie Lynn Spears Dancing To Her Sister’s Music On ‘Dancing With The Stars’
Both Jamie Lynn Spears and her “Dancing With The Stars” partner, season 28 Champion and Juniors Champion Alan Bersten, took to social media on Tuesday morning to share the announcement that they would be competing together in season 32 of “Dancing With The Stars,” which premieres on Tuesday, September 26.
“Woooo!!!! I’m so excited to announce that I’m back for season 32 of @dancingwiththestars with my new partner @jamielynnspears !!!” Alan wrote in the caption of his Instagram post. “Let’s go!” Unlike Jamie Lynn, he does not filter or moderate his comments, leading to many negative comments about Jamie Lynn’s casting.
“Darn. They did Alan dirty this year,” one fan commented. “Riiiiiight. Like, let Alan live!!!” another follower exclaimed. “Alan…….. come on,” a third fan chimed in. “AS IF he had a choice in his paring lol Alan has not a single say lol the producers decide who gets who….” another follower chimed in.
Fans also had a lot of concern that producers were going to force Jamie Lynn to discuss her famous sister, especially considering her memoir, “The Woman In Me,” drops a month after the show’s premiere. “Ok but if she uses Britney’s fame in the competition I will stop watching,” one fan commented.
Fans Don't Seem To Have A Lot Of Faith In Producers Not To Stir Up Drama!
“You know she will and they’re going to make her dance to Britney’s music without a doubt,” another follower wrote. “That would be really messed up if that happened!” another fan chimed in. “Oh, I hope not. That may push Britney Spears over the edge,” another follower wrote. “Messed up, yes. Will it happen? Also, yes,” another fan agreed.
“Absolutely it will push Brit over the edge, but I guarantee this will happen because the producers love drama,” another follower shared. “She won’t have a choice- production always stirs up drama. They brought up the college admission scandal every week when Lori Laughlin’s daughter was on,” another fan chimed in.
“She better keep Britney's name OUT OF HER MOUTH,” another follower exclaimed. “She won’t. Producers love to stir the pot and they won’t let this ‘opportunity’ pass them by. She will dance to Britney’s music too guaranteed,” another fan wrote. “ It’s not like she has a choice- whether she wants to or not production will have her bring Britney up,” another follower agreed.
Fortunately, there were also some fans who showed support for Alan in the midst of all of the drama. “We love you, Alan!! don’t listen to any negativity. You’re here to dance, do your job, and do what you love,” one fan commented. “You don’t deserve this 2 years in a row! Don’t worry, got your back dude! Throwing you my support this season from here on out! Stay positive and your sweet self, Alan! You are a good man!!!” another follower exclaimed.
Jamie Lynn Says She Will Donate Her 'Dancing With The Stars' Salary
In her own Instagram post, the “Sweet Magnolias” actress said that she “decided to lace up my dancing shoes for a good reason” and explained that she decided to compete in season 32 of “Dancing With The Stars” to raise awareness for the WGA writer’s strike and the SAG-AFTRA acting strike.
She wrote: “I was offered an opportunity that is completely out of the ordinary of something I would normally ever do, but it’s during a time where my community #SAG & #WGA are on strike & all of us members are unable to work until we have reached a fair resolution, so if I’m able to use this unique opportunity to bring more awareness and to donate the salary I get for dancing each week back to the community who has given me so much, then it’s the least I can do.”
“I could not ask for a better partner then @alanbersten to guide me through this adventure,” she continued. “I’m not gonna lie, I’m scared, but I’m just gonna have fun and hopefully be able to give back in a meaningful way until we can ALL GET BACK TO OUR DAY JOBS.” Jamie Lynn limits comments on her Instagram posts, so it was not a big surprise to see that they were all positive and encouraging!
