Nothing can stop Ed Sheeran from giving a magical performance!
Shortly after the recording artist opted out of holding his previously scheduled show at Allegiant Stadium, situated just below the Vegas Strip, he surprised a couple during their wedding reception. Sheeran had regrettably announced the cancellation of the performance through a statement posted on his Instagram account.
Ed Sheeran Stood As A Witness To THIS Couple's Wedding Ceremony After Serenading Them
Since Sheeran had some free time after the cancellation of his show, he decided to mark "crashing a wedding" off his bucket list. With his acoustic guitar in hand, the singer-songwriter surprised everyone by appearing at the famous Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, where a newlywed couple were exchanging their vows.
The moment, which was captured on film and shared via the "Shape of You" hitmaker's Instagram account, began with the couple, identified as Jordan and Carter Lindenfield, holding hands and getting ready to exchange vows.
Suddenly, the acclaimed singer accompanied by his acoustic guitar and a few backup singers, appeared from nowhere to perform "Magical." Belting out the chorus of the song, which is from his upcoming album, "Autumn Variations," the 32-year-old sang:
"This is how it feels to be in love/ This is magical, this is magical/ Is this how it feels to be in love?/ This is magical, this is magical."
The elated — but still shocked pair— composed themselves long enough to finish exchanging their vows before asking for a photo with Sheeran, who bore witness to the ceremony by signing their marriage certificate.
Under the heartwarming clip, the Grammy Awards winner reflected, "Crashed a wedding, this is Magical x." Taking to the comments section to express her appreciation, the newly minted Mrs. Lindenfield wrote:
"THANK YOU SO MUCH for the most magical day of our lives 😭 we'll truly never forget this or the wedding advice you gave us ❤️❤️❤️."
"You're such a boss. Just making peoples life memories by going out of your way for an hour. Legend Ed," one viewer commented, as another pointed out, "This is amazing... the GROOM looked like HE wanted to cry."
A third observer jokingly informed Sheeran, "Just want to let you know you can crash my wedding too. I have no date set yet, tbh I don't even have the fiance, but baby steps," and a fourth added, "Magical is magical. Thank you Ed for always bringing beauty into my life ❤️."
As for his canceled show, The Blast reported that the "Thinking Out Loud" performer had told his fans via a statement that read, "I can't believe I'm typing this, but there's been some challenges encountered during the load in of our vegas show. It's impossible to go forward with the show. I'm so sorry."
After conveying his regret for inconveniencing his supporters, especially those who had traveled to attend the concert, the "Castle on the Hill" singer provided a new date, "Saturday, October 28th," adding, "and all purchased tickets will be valid for that date. I'm so, so sorry x."

It was later revealed that the show's cancelation had stemmed from safety concerns triggered by a flooring problem encountered during Sheeran's soundcheck preparations. As he shared via a subsequent update:
"A little bit more context on the cancellation yesterday. It was a safety issue, and we really tried to do the best we could to make the show happen but I'm not gonna risk the safety of my fans for anything."
The Plagiarism Case Against The 'Bad Habits' Artist Was Dismissed In May
Aside from cementing his place in people's hearts, Sheeran has been winning in the courtroom. The Blast shared that the Brit Award recipient's second copyright lawsuit would not be heard by a jury following its dismissal by U.S. District Judge Louis Stanton.
The lawsuit had been brought forward by Structured Asset Sales LLC, who claimed that the Halifax born star's "Thinking Out Loud" bore similarities to Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On," suggesting that the English pop singer had plagiarized the classic track.
The plaintiff owns one-third of the shares of "Let's Get It On," which were acquired from the family of co-writer Ed Townsend in 2018. In a surprising twist, Judge Stanton dismissed the copyright case, stating that the elements the plaintiff alleged were plagiarized could not be safeguarded under copyright law due to their common nature.
This decision follows Sheeran's recent courtroom triumph earlier in May, where he prevailed in another alleged copyright infringement case involving Gaye's 1973 song.
