New Disney World Fireworks Show Coming SOON

At Destination D23 this weekend, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced several new experiences coming to EPCOT at Walt Disney World.

One of those experiences is a brand-new fireworks show!

Josh D'Amaro announced that soon, Disney World will debut a new fireworks show at EPCOT, called “Luminous The Symphony of Us”.

Disney Parks shared, "'Luminous The Symphony of Us' will feature fireworks, fountains, lasers, lighting effects and music and continue Disney’s long tradition of amazing nighttime entertainment at the park."

“Luminous The Symphony of Us” will debut at EPCOT on December 5, 2023.

In the meantime, Guests can enjoy the current fireworks show at EPCOT called "EPCOT Forever", which Disney describes as "Witness the wonder as the story of EPCOT and its next incredible chapter come to life in this nighttime spectacular. Behold the single “spark of imagination” that started it all. Watch it grow, evolve and transform into a nighttime extravaganza that stirs the senses and captures all you love about EPCOT and all that’s to come––with dazzling fireworks and stunning laser effects set to tunes that have become theme park favorites."

Guests can also watch Magic Kingdom's fireworks show, "Happily Ever After", which Disney describes as "Go on a dazzling journey of color, light and song that captures the heart, humor and heroism of favorite Disney stories. Watch in awe as Cinderella Castle is magically transformed through amazing state-of-the art projection technology you have to see to believe. This astounding fireworks extravaganza uses lights, lasers and special effects, plus a soaring score featuring contemporary versions of beloved Disney songs."

Disney Imagineers are currently working on putting the final touches on Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana which will open at EPCOT in Disney World later this year. The company has referred to Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana as a “lush exploration trail” which will allow Guests to “play with magical, living water.”

Disney World describes the upcoming attraction as, “Stroll along a self-guided outdoor trail where you can play and interact with water as it travels from the sky to the oceans and back again. Along the way, learn about the importance of water and discover its playful personality—just as Moana did on her heroic voyage.”

The website continues, “Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is scheduled to open within World Nature—the EPCOT neighborhood dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty and balance of the natural world.”

The upcoming attraction, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, is based off of the hit film, “Moana,” which quickly became one of Disney’s most popular animated movies.

In addition to the new attraction, new meet and greets will also debut. Fan-favorite Figment will begin greeting guests at EPCOT today, September 10 while Moana will arrive in World Nature on October 16.

Meanwhile, the iconic attraction, Test Track, will soon be reimagined as Disney announced that its Imagineers plan to bring “that spirit of optimism” from World of Motion “to the next iteration” of Test Track. At this time, no further details have been announced.
