Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and her husband of seven years, Israel Houghton, are over the moon about their baby boy, Ever James' latest achievement.
Ever is the first and only child the couple share, and he was born via surrogate on August 5, 2022. A year after his birth, he is taking his very first steps, much to his parents' delight as they documented it on social media, just in time for his New York Fashion Week debut.

Adrienne and Israel flaunted their son's achievement, using a joint Instagram video of the little one walking with minimal guidance in preparation for his NYFW appearance. The video, set to Gilbran Alcocer's "Idea 9," began with the tot swaddled in a white blanket and unveiling his face with a toothless grin.

It later transitioned to a view of him taking excited steps from his dad to his uncle Justin Sylvester in a small room before showing him walking on a corridor between the two men. Ever was filmed taking careful steps on the broader space and wobbling but was guided from behind by Justin until he reached his father, who hugged and kissed him.
"Look who's walking 🤍 @everjames," Adrienne proclaimed in the caption. "I can't believe we captured his first steps w/ uncle @justinasylvester - the best memories we will have forever & Ever ♾️."
She added, "And today… he is walking in his first @rookieusa #NYFW fashion show - with his prima/hermanas @jetmariealexander & @beauharperalexander! It's a family tradition that I have dreamed of for years… and today is the day! Yes, I am crying typing this… Xx."
Her followers were as thrilled as she was, as they flooded the post with compliments for little Ever. One such commenter was fellow "The Real" alum Tamera Mowry, who penned, "So it begins! ❤️❤️❤️ Can't wait to meet you in person Ever!"
A second fan gushed, "Yayyy!! Go Ever go!! 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️," and a third exclaimed, "Awww….SO Precious!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️.” One more comment read, "Oh, thank You Jesus. I'm so glad. I'm also happy you could capture these moments and watch them over and over again."
Similarly, an overjoyed devotee raved, "Oh my goodness, look out!!! He's ready for the runway!!! Yay!!!🎉🎉" and another admitted, "I could watch this 100x ❤️." A seventh follower shared, "Awesome!!!! Yaaaaay!!!! 🙏🏾" same with an eighth fan who wrote, "Awww –yayy ever👏❤️" while another remarked, "Wow!!! Between Ever James and Coco, y'all are making my entire day!!! 🥰❤️🥰❤️.”
The heartwarming milestone comes six months after Ever made his magazine cover debut on Harpers Bazaar, as seen on the "Coach Carter" actress' Instagram feed in March. "HARPERS BAZAAR 🖤 Me & my baby boy @everjames for @bazaarvietnam – my favorite photos EVER!" Adrienne announced. "This was truly so special… can't wait to share our cover! Besos Xx."
She uploaded images from the photoshoot, including the magazine's cover photo, where she was captured holding her sleeping son close to her bosom and sitting near a waterside. The 39-year-old entertainer was dressed in a shimmering ensemble and accessorized with multiple gold bracelets and a gold necklace featuring her baby's name.
Other slides displayed her in different clothing from the shoot, including a black gossamer robe with a lengthy train, a mid-length leather dress, and a black pantsuit outfit.
Taking to the caption, she wrote, "Ever's Mami," before crediting the creative team who contributed to the success of the photoshoot.
The Daytime Emmy Award Winner Opened Up About Dealing With Mom Guilt On Instagram
Back in July, Adrienne got candid about her motherhood struggles, emphasizing dealing with mom guilt in an emotional update. She explained her dilemma, giving fans an idea of how she balances her work schedule and mom time with Ever.
A scene in the clip showed her busy with hosting duties on set, while in another scene, she played with her ecstatic son, who seemed to be having the best time.
"This working mom's favorite job and title would forever and always be 'Ever's mommy,'" Bailon confessed in the voiceover before divulging that she felt "so exhausted" on some days as a working mom.
She also mentioned that whenever guilt crept in, she paused and reminded herself of her "greatest blessing and answered prayer," Ever. Meanwhile, in the video's caption, she shared, "A mid-week reminder 🖤 mom guilt is real. I needed this today."
