The Headless Horseman is one of the iconic aspects of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

To start the Mickey's Boo-To-You Parade, an offering that only occurs during the special ticketed event, the Headless Horseman rides his horse down Main Street, U.S.A., leaving Guests in awe.

Unfortunately, during a recent parade, the horse slipped and took a nasty fall, knocking the Headless Horseman off of his back and onto the ground.

During one of the Halloween parties last week, the Headless Horseman was seen trotting down Main Street, U.S.A. before turning and slipping on the ground, leaving the horse sprawled out on the ground and the Disney performer knocked off the back of the horse.

Luckily, both the horse and the Disney performer seemed to be okay after the scary incident, as both stood back up almost immediately.

This is not the first time a horse was involved in an incident at Walt Disney World. In 2020, Merida’s horse, who Merida used to ride during the Disney Princess cavalcade which occurred periodically throughout the day, got spooked by a balloon and had to be escorted off of Main Street, U.S.A.

In a YouTube video, Guests can see Merida’s horse was spooked by a balloon a child was holding and accidentally let go of, which then got wrapped up in the horse’s feet, and was then walked off of backstage by cast members.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special ticketed event that allows guests to experience Halloween without the scares. During the event, guests can watch a special fireworks show, meet Disney characters in their Halloween costumes, see a one-of-a-kind parade, and more.

Catch a glimpse of dastardly villains, ghastly ghouls and other iconic Characters as they float by during this spellbinding parade. Twice nightly, this beloved cavalcade brings forth an assortment of fiendishly fun floats, as each land of the Magic Kingdom park comes together to celebrate during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party—offered on select nights from August 11 through November 1, 2023.

Highlights include:

  • A flurry of favorite Disney friends, including Mickey Mouse, don Halloween costumes as they prepare to go trick-or-treat down Main Street, U.S.A.
  • Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow run amuck dressed as their favorite Halloween sisters—the Sandersons from Hocus Pocus
  • Hitchhiking Ghosts and the spectral Bride glide among the waltzing spirits—representing the Haunted Mansion from Liberty Square
  • A wicked assortment of Disney Villains reign over a Fantastyland-inspired grand finale.

There is also a special fireworks show called “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular” which is described as, “Jack-o-lanterns aren’t the only ‘Jack’ at Walt Disney World this Halloween! The Pumpkin King, a.k.a. Jack Skellington, will once again host the must-see nighttime spectacular, “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular.” Featuring projections, special effects and lighting paired with fireworks, music and iconic Disney characters, you won’t want to miss this!”

Plus, during the party, select Magic Kingdom rides and attractions will be open for guests to enjoy with limited crowds. Disney recently announced, “Also during the party, you may have the opportunity to experience some of your favorite attractions, including Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the newly opened TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise. TRON Lightcycle / Run will use a virtual queue* during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, allowing guests to enjoy all the festivities while they wait to enter the Grid.
