When most people think of the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, they probably don't think about a Pepsi commercial, especially where Britney Spears is concerned. Instead, many remember her iconic performance of "I'm A Slave 4 U" that featured her dancing with a large snake.
On Wednesday night, the pop star shared a video of the performance on her social media pages. In the caption, she wrote, “One of my favorite performances was with an albino python … I still remember how scared I felt when I was handed this snake and took the stage !!! I talked more about this performance and other favorites in my book #TheWomanInMe. “I can’t wait for you to read it on October 24.”

Fans had nothing but love for the pop star and her viral performance. “I bet it added a whole new level of adrenaline to the performance for you! You absolutely killed it though. Who knew, back then, how iconic it would become? Looking forward to the read,” one fan commented.
“You were transcendental, Britney. Really, there will never be anyone like you. The VMAs were never the same without you performing in it! Once you’re ready, come back and we will be here for you,” another follower wrote. Although Britney has previously indicated that she has no intention of touring again, Madonnaseems to be trying to get her on stage in Los Angeles for one of the stops on her Celebration tour!
Fans will keep their fingers crossed!
