Cher Finally Reveals How She Retains Her Youthful Look And It Might Shock You

Legendary singer and actress Cher has opened up about why she continues to look so good despite being three years shy of being an octogenarian.

The 77-year-old, who has garnered fame for her distinctive voice, bold fashion choices, and acting prowess, shared that leaving her hair long, wearing jeans, and having good genes have contributed to her youthful appearance.

She recently broke up with her producer boyfriend and plans on releasing new albums and going on a tour.

During her recent interview on "Good Morning Britain," Cher, who is currently 77, opened up about how she has maintained her youthful look, per the Daily Mail.

The former one-half of the pop duo Sonny & Cher told hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls that she would "still be wearing my jeans" and "long hair" despite her advanced age.

She also said that the "Genes in my family are pretty amazing," seemingly alluding that some genetic good luck in her lineage is partly a factor.

Cher went on to explain she was not "trying to be young," but rather, she was living her life just the way she wanted.

"I keep up with the trends, and I have lots of young friends," the singer continued. "I have old friends too. Honestly, I'm not trying to feel young, I'm not trying to be young, I am what I am, whatever that means."

Cher's remark comes after her tweet in May, where she noted that she was yet to feel old despite turning 77.

The "Moonstruck" actress said at the time, "Ok, Will Someone PLEASE Tell me…..When Will I Feel OLD. This is ridiculous. I keep hearing these numbers, but I Honestly can't understand them. "

She also shared her gratitude to her fans, who had stuck with her over her several decades-long career, which spans both the music and film industries.

She added, "Thank u for staying, I know it's been hard. Got to go work out. Twitter is harder for me than TweetBot."

Although Cher doesn't feel like she is getting old, she did admit a while ago that aging makes her "nervous" and that she" hates it," per The Guardian.

The singer broke up with her younger lover, Alexander "A.E." Edwards, some months ago after dating for six months.

The pair, who have a four-decade age gap, were rumored to have been dating since last November, as they were often seen together at high-profile events, including the pre-Grammy Awards party in February and Versace's fall/winter fashion show in March.

They were also spotted out and about in Los Angeles, holding hands on some occasions. Then, in December, the "Believer" singer gushed about the producer when she appeared on "The Kelly Clarkson Show."

"He's very kind, very smart, he's very talented, and he's really funny," she said. "And I think he's quite handsome."

At the time, she also commented that while their pairing might look "ridiculous" on paper, they get along great in real life.

It is unclear why the lovers split, as neither Cher nor Edwards has chosen to discuss it in public. It is also unclear if the end of their relationship will lead to Cher removing the songs she worked on with Edwards for her proposed new albums.

"I'm going to England to make two albums," the singer told E! News in March. "Some of the songs Alexander gave me, so I'm pretty excited about that. He's a producer and a writer, and he does everything, so I'm happy about that."

Cher last released a studio album, "Dancing Queen," in 2018, which contained songs like "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)," "SOS," "The Name of the Game," "The Winner Takes It All," and "Mamma Mia."

She is also planning to hit the road later this year, although details and arrangements are yet to be released.
