Travis Barker’s ‘Urgent Family Matter’ Cause REVEALED

Blink-182 temporarily paused their tour while Travis Barker tended to an "urgent family matter" that has now been revealed.

The 47-year-old drummer is expecting his first child with “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star Kourtney Kardashian, leaving many fans concerned that there was something wrong with the baby.

On Saturday night, both Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker were spotted walking out of a medical center in the Los Angeles area. Kourtney was still visibly pregnant in the photos, obtained by Page Six.

On Monday, the cause of the crisis was finally revealed. A source told People magazine that Kourtney had a “brief” hospital stay and was fortunately “back home now with her kids.”

"She is feeling better. She is happy to have Travis back home too," the insider added. The cause of her hospitalization was not disclosed at this time.

On Friday, September 1, Blink-182 posted a brief statement to their Instagram Stories announcing that they had to indefinitely postpone three of their European tour dates in Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin.

"Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States,” the statement read. “The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available."

Around twelve hours ago, the musician took to his Instagram Stories to share a photo of a prayer room and then shared a blue banner reading, “Together we pray.”

It was unclear at the time what Travis wanted his fans to pray for.

After he married Kourtney in May 2022, he welcomed three stepchildren to his family, in addition to the two kids he shares with his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler.

He also has a stepdaughter that he helped raise when he was married to her from 2004 to 2008.

On Friday afternoon, his ex-wife Shanna Moakler told a photog in Los Angeles that the incident does not involve any of their children, as reported by TMZ.

Around this time last year, “The Kardashians” reality star rushed her husband to the West Hills Hospital and Medical Center only a few months after they tied the knot. Things took a turn for the worse and he was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles by ambulance.

In July 2022, he took to his Instagram Stories to explain what went wrong and thank fans for their support. “I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great. But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since,” he wrote at the time.

“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube,” he explained. “This resulted in severe life threatening pancreatitis.”

“I am so very, very grateful that with intensive treatment I am currently much better,” he concluded. “Thank you God, I love you God.”

In her own Instagram Stories, Kourtney called it a “scary and emotional week,” adding, “Our health is everything and sometimes we take for granted how quickly it can change. Travis and I went in for a routine endoscopy together and he ended up with severe, life-threatening pancreatitis.”

“I am so grateful to God for healing my husband, for all of your prayers for him and for us, for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support. I am so touched and appreciative,” she wrote, adding, “I am so, so thankful to our specialists, doctors, and nurses at Cedars Sinai for taking such wonderful care of my husband and me during our stay.”

“It’s crazy how sometimes words could never truly express the gratitude or feelings I have inside of me,” she wrote in a separate slide.

“Language and voice carry energy but your heart is more powerful,” she later added. “What your heart and soul feel goes beyond a small combination of letters. I love Rumi’s quote ‘I closed my eyes and spoke with you in a thousand silent ways.’”
