Sam Asghari Talks Leonardo DiCaprio, Not Britney Spears, On SAG-AFTRA Picket Line

Actor Sam Asghari would not talk about Britney Spearson the picket line, but he did compare himself to actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

On August 16, the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor filed for divorce from the "Toxic" singer citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. He also listed the date of separation as July 28, 2023, meaning it has now been more than a month since the former couple had separated.

Amid reports that he is "jobless" amid the writer's strike and SAG-AFTRA actor's strike, the 29-year-old actor didn't mind talking to paparazzi on the picket lines but stayed clear of any conversations about Britney Spears.

On Thursday night, the Iranian actor was at the front of the line marching up at down Disney Studios in Burbank, California. The actor, dressed in a black tank top and baseball cap, was asked about his divorce from Britney Spears.

As per TMZ, Sam said that he wasn’t there to discuss his personal life. Instead, he wanted to raise awareness for the strike in the hopes that it would be resolved quickly. Sam pulled the “Titanic” actor into the conversation, adding that the Oscar-winning actor has as many jobs right now as he does.

“That’s the point of this strike. I have the same amount of jobs as Leonardo DiCaprio does,” Sam said. “I hope everything gets resolved very fast so that we can all go back to doing what we love doing the most, which is making art and inspiring people.”

“Writers are the heart and soul of every project we do, so SAG strong,” he added as he held up his picket sign. Although the “Special Ops: Lioness” red carpet was canceled during the writer’s strike, Sam is hoping to catch the premiere of his latest film, “Grand Death Lotto,” which is currently in post-production, per IMDb.

However, Leo’s IMDb page tells a different story. He has four acting jobs and eight producing projects lined up, all of which are on hiatus due to the SAG-AFTRA strike shutting down most of Hollywood at the moment.

Although it remains to be seen if the actor will be able to get any new jobs when the SAG-AFTRA strike is all said and done, it looks like the Princess of Pop is well on her way to a career comeback. On Wednesday, August 30, a source told Us Weekly that Britney is looking forward to starting a “new chapter” in her life and wants to release new music to sync up with the release of her highly anticipated memoir, “The Woman In Me,” this October.

“The songs will be about freeing herself from negativity and unhealthy people,” the source shared, revealing that Britney would like to do a “big sit-down interview” along with the release of her memoir as well. However, all the press might be a bit much to take, as the source added, “Her team will have to evaluate where she is at to see if she is ready for it.”

Fortunately, it seems that Britney is enjoying life at the moment. “As far as dating goes, Britney just wants to enjoy her freedom and meet hot guys — that seems to be the priority,” the insider said, admitting that “it’s hard to know what Britney really wants down the line — it changes so frequently.”

They did go on to say that Britney has a lot of support from her famous friends, as well as the Queen of Pop, Madonna, who wants Britney to join her on one of her stops on the Celebration tour in Los Angeles. “Britney’s grateful for the support she’s gotten from her friends in the biz — Madonna especially,” the insider shared. “She’d love to join her, but the question is whether or not she can handle that type of pressure and attention.”

Although Britney and Sam are not speaking at the moment, there are rumors that he plans on contesting the prenup. The source told the outlet that Britney “feels manipulated and betrayed” by Sam Asghari, who is currently living in a high-rise luxury building in Los Angeles that is being paid for by the pop star herself.

“She’s paying him until they settle everything in court,” the insider explained. Another source said that Sam is “hoping things get resolved quickly,” adding, “He doesn’t want to play hardball with Britney, but if he has to, he will.”
