The former US President and his wife were certainly over the moon during their outing at the US Open, as witnessed on Michelle's Instagram feed. One of her latest posts featured the lovebirds grinning widely at the camera as they posed side by side with their arms around each other.
They were both casually dressed for the affair, with Barack rocking gray khaki slacks, a matching sweater jacket, a white button-down shirt, and brown shoes.
In contrast, his partner looked chic in a long denim dress paired with a cropped black jacket and sandals. The post also included an adorable view of the 44th US President kissing his spouse on the cheek, prompting her to glow with happiness.
The post was captioned, "Game, set, match. 🎾," and gained over half a million likes from overjoyed followers who also took to the comments to gush about the charming-looking couple. In another comment, the twosome were regarded as "amazing," while one more read, "My favorite couple looking awesome as always. You look 10 years younger, Michelle, since you left the White House."
Hours before the post went live, the "Becoming" author shared some more highlights from the US Open featuring her posing with three other women, including sports icon Billie Jean King and public figure Sara Bareilles. In the caption, Michelle spoke of the significant change the tennis industry underwent five decades ago for gender equality.
She wrote, "50 years ago, the United States Tennis Association changed the game by awarding equal prize money for men and women competing at the @USOpen." The Chicago native added that the "major milestone" would not have happened without King, and she felt honored to have celebrated the change.
She then penned a lesson she learned from the sports guru, declaring that when women's rights hang in the balance, they all had a choice to fight their battles themselves for their future and that of their daughters. The candid words got fans raving in the comments, including King, who remarked, "Thank you for the beautiful words last night. We are all in this together."
Barack and Michelle's date night at the US Open comes after the untimely passing of their longtime chef, Tafari Campbell, who was found dead near their Martha's Vineyard residence.
The cause of death was recently revealed to be an "accident," as the culinarian had drowned while visiting the property. Before Campbell's demise, he was seen paddle boarding on the Edgartown Great Pond when he fell into the water after losing his balance.
He struggled to remain afloat but unfortunately could not, and his body was later recovered the following morning.
