Former MTV VJ Jesse Camp is speaking out on his disappearance last month, claiming it was all caused over some bad communication.

"I didn't mean to scare everyone and it was a bit of misunderstanding. Honestly, it was just some really bad communication and I had some phone problems. I had some really good friends that tweeted about it and then it sort of took on a life of its own," Camp explained in an interview with The Daily Mail.

As The Blast first reported, Camp's sister, Marisha, revealed he had been missing for roughly one week through a social media post last month, writing, "If anyone has seen or heard from my brother Jesse since Saturday, please, please, please reach out to me or ask him to call home!!! Thank you!!!!!"

Several days later, the Riverside Police Department said Camp was no longer considered to be a missing person and was “contacted by a local law enforcement agency a short time ago and not in need of any assistance. His family has been notified.”

Camp says he's happy nothing bad happened and is grateful for everyone's concern, "Honestly, I want to say I was really moved by all the energy and love that people shared and how many people really care about me."

While he was apparently vague on where he actually was during the time he was thought to be missing, Camp offered up some entertaining possibilities including "abducted by aliens," "hit on the head with a coconut" and "hiding in the Himalayas" for a publicity stunt.
