Paris Jackson is clearing the air about the love she has for her late iconic father!
While most people celebrate Michael Jackson's posthumous birthdays with love, some internet trolls spread hate by attacking the late legend's daughter.
The King of Pop was one of the most influential stars of the 20th century. During his lifetime, the "Beat It" hitmaker amassed a loyal fanbase that continues to honor the moonwalk trendsetter's memory.
However, among his admirers were a few overzealous followers who believed they had the right to judge the entertainer's children. The Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree's daughter recently opened up about the negativity she had gotten from such people.
Paris Jackson Says Social Media Is Not The Only Way To Pay Tribute To Her Late Father
In her latest Instagram Story update, the "Man in the Mirror" singer's daughter addressed the misconceptions fans had about her love for the deceased cultural icon. In a series of videos, the 25-year-old explained why she rarely honored her father through social media.
After performing at a show on Tuesday, August 29, the Teen Choice Award nominee filmed herself backstage rocking a sleeveless brown jumpsuit. The media personality announced it was Michael's birthday, an occasion she claimed the pop superstar disliked celebrating.
"Back when he was alive, he used to hate anybody acknowledging his birthday, wishing him a happy birthday, celebrating it, nothing like that," the Beverly Hills native revealed, noting that her father would hide his birthday to stop his kids from commemorating the occasion.
Given the late entertainer's disinterest in marking his big day, the model's lack of social media tributes became clear. Diving into people's misconceptions about her, Paris continued:
"If you don't wish someone a happy birthday via social media, it apparently means that you don't love them, you don't care about them. There have been times where I don't post anything for my dad's birthday, and people lose their f**king minds. They tell me to kill myself."

The Daily Front Row Award recipient confessed she was being judged for not expressing her feelings on social media, "They're basically measuring my love for my own father based off of what I post on Instagram."
The 25-year-old then lamented before adding that she had made a special video for these internet trolls. In the second clip, Paris honored the "Billie Jean" hitmaker during her performance in front of a crowd.
The media personality announced it was her dad's 65th posthumous birthday before reflecting on how Michael's stellar career paved the way for her musical pursuits. In the "Let down" songstress's words, "He put 50 years of blood, sweat, and tears, and love, and passion into doing what he did so that I could stand up here on stage in front of you and scream into a microphone. So I owe everything to him."
In her final video, Paris again pointed out that social media was not the only way to honor the late King of Pop. Instead, the model shared various ways the deceased icon would have wanted to be celebrated on his birthday. The list included raising awareness about environmental issues like climate change and animal rights activism.
While Paris didn't celebrate her father's posthumous birthday on social media, her brother Prince Jackson, commemorated the milestone on Instagram with a heartfelt post.

The 26-year-old shared throwback pictures from his childhood alongside the words: “Happy birthday, dad. I miss you and love you. You may be gone but not forgotten. You’re in our hearts each and every [sic] day.”
How The Jacksons Celebrated The 14th Anniversary Of The King Of Pop's Death
Those who attacked Paris over her lack of social media tributes to her late father might need to refresh their memories. Two months before the 25-year-old addressed the negativity, the Jackson family dominated the internet in honor of the 14th anniversary of Michael's passing.
The Songwriters Hall of Fame honoree's memory was celebrated by his loved ones, with his younger sister, Janet Jackson, leading the emotional tributes. The "Why Did I Get Married?" star shared rare throwback pictures of herself and the late entertainer alongside a white heart emoji.
The "You Are Not Alone" chart-topper's older brother and sister, Tito and LaToya Jackson, similarly took trips down memory lane. Unlike the youngest child of the Jackson family, the siblings penned heartwarming messages depicting their love for the late icon.
As for Paris, the stunning model shared an image of her father’s hand holding a poster that read, “I love you.” Although she did not share additional details, it was safe to assume this post was in honor of Michael's passing.
